Spoiler
Chris indicated no recognition of Muffy, so I'm guessing this was taped before her appearance as a contestant. If you want to meet a bunch of trivia stars in a friendly and fun setting then O'Brien's Irish Pub Quiz is a great place. The gallery here includes Raj as well as some 2017 TOCers and plenty of J! Board members: https://www.flickr.com/photos/pubquiz/

For the pool ball question Raj dazzled host Chris and the audience with knowing the stripe balls are 9-15 for a total of 7 balls. They average to 12 so final answser 84. It was done so smoothly and quickly while I was doing 9+10+11+12+13+14+15 to get there in the slow lane.
Yes, that
Spoiler
pool ball question was impressive!
I thought I heard Chris say "nice to see you again" to Muffy, and her reaction to Chris's telling them their answer was correct seemed to me to indicate she had already taped. But I could be wrong.

Just went to the tape above, and Chris says "good to meet you, how are you doing?" to Muffy. Enough to make me think they're running this out of order specifically because of sweeps.

No reason to spoilerize this response, but my first thought when Raj posted his airdate on Facebook was, "They're airing it in November. What a surprise. :)"

I didn't hear that, and I doubt he said it; but after the reveal it seemed as if he remembered her.

We're both wrong though, she told me she taped after Raj.

This has all of the questions from the Friday, November 3rd show: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dgnmNW ... sp=sharing

One more thing with Muffy mentioned in an earlier post is that she met Chris previously when she was a +1 for Michael Rankins. I would not expect a host to remember a +1 from two different seasons.

Spoiler
Why, oh why couldn't I have had Raj's $250K question in my game? I knew it immediately.

I was leaning toward dog on the $500K question, but not enough to go for it.

Spoiler
Great episode. In his position, I don't think I'd ever take that 250k gamble. Thankfully, if it were me up there, I would've known the answer cold, because when I see a name like Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, I look it up

he may have been told prior to the start of filming, his memory may have even been refreshed by Muffy before starting the cold open. that would explain what I thought I was seeing and what Elindilpickle said she thought she heard.

I knew from an old Guinness Book of Records that
Spoiler
Mahershalalhashbaz was from Isaiah. Not well enough that I would have been confident to say that if someone asked me where Mahershala Ali's name came from, but with the multiple choice, I think I was sure enough to have made it my final answer from that position without using a lifeline. I definitely knew of the name before Ali got famous, because I remember seeing his name in the opening credits of "Crossing Jordan" (when he was still credited by his full first name) and thinking, "Oh, I've seen that name before, it's the longest name in the Bible."
And then for some reason
Spoiler
I had a strong inclination that the Warhol drawing in question was a shoe. I couldn't place why I thought that. Here I would have used the 50/50, maybe after ATA if I still had it.

Upon inspection, notice:

A: Appendectomy >> major abdominal procedure (lifethreatening)
B: Gallstone removal >> invasive abdominal procedure (now they do it by laparoscopy, but nevermind that! still can be lifethreatening)
C: Cataract surgery >> minor outpatient eye surgery
D: Coronary bypass >> major thoracic procedure (lifethreatening)
Spoiler
Pick the one that doesn't fit! :D
That's fine until the writers put two "sames" and one "different" with the correct response.

Nikolaj Koster-Waldau has the same number of letters as Benedict Cumberbatch.
Yeah I noticed that after and briefly wondered but the three 'B's caught my eye and I figured they outweighed the two 'K's. Stupid luck as not so:
English-language editions of Scrabble contain 100 letter tiles, in the following distribution:

2 blank tiles (scoring 0 points)
1 point: E ×12, A ×9, I ×9, O ×8, N ×6, R ×6, T ×6, L ×4, S ×4, U ×4.
2 points: D ×4, G ×3.
3 points: B ×2, C ×2, M ×2, P ×2.
4 points: F ×2, H ×2, V ×2, W ×2, Y ×2.
5 points: K ×1.

One such picture came in to the pawn shop.

That was great! Here's what I did (with the video paused):
Spoiler
Like a lot of people here probably do, I know the first line from "Seasons of Love" is "525,600 minutes," which refers to the number of minutes in a (non-leap, calendar) year. Armed with that knowledge, I knew that for C to be correct, you would have to be able to multiply 2,000 and change by 525,600 to get close to 4.5 billion. Well, 2,000 x 500,000 is only 1 billion, which means a minute is about four times the amount of time it should be. Fifteen seconds, final answer.

Shiva Oswal returned on the 11/15 show:

Shiva used his last lifeline +1 dad. Pops did not offer much other than bezoar could sound like roar of the crowd so perhaps applause. He indicated it was Shiva's decision while recommending walking with $100K.
Next:
Spoiler
Shiva decided to go for it and got a roar from the crowd with his mention that it was Vegas and he locked in B: A cat's hairball
Next:
Spoiler

Next:
Spoiler
Shiva walked with $250,000 and would have guessed Kennedy. It was LBJ. My thinking was perhaps Kennedy after a (D) taking over after 8 years of (R) and not a VP after president died or termed out.
Next:
Spoiler
Those two questions took up about half of the show's time, so that is why I did not go the video route since it was soooo stretched out including a commercial break after Shiva's answer was locked in for the first question. There was only time for the next contestant to get through four questions and she used lifelines on two of them.

That was great, indeed. Here was my approach:
Spoiler
Rent never crossed my mind, so… a slightly longer route.

Assuming 1 minute = 2,000 years:
1 hour = 120,000 years
1 day = 2,880,000 years (mental math: 120,000 x 24 = 12 x 12 x 2 x 10,000)
1 year = 3,000,000 * 365 = a little over one billion, so I need 4x as much
