Jonah; no response (got stuck thinking of literal flags and that got me nowhere and ran out of time).
Should have gotten From the New World.
Have tasted both Royal Crown and Crown Royal. As of the latest time for both, I like neither.
I may not have been able to come up with Wein's name a month ago, but that was something I knew.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Said Amos on Monday, just to have something.
No idea Tuesday. Tried to solve by thinking of whiskeys first and should have done the reverse, however I always thought of the cola as RC. Never tasted Crown Royal

NHO Len Wein before the thread here, but think I probably would have got the FJ anyway.

Interesting that so far 4 people (including me! ) got the prophet and 3 got 5/5. So if you got the prophet, there’s a good chance you swept the week!

Said Joel and would have bet it was right. "-el" names mean something of God, and Daniel can't have been the shortest book.

Have drunk both, and I carry my chess pieces in a Crown Royal bag.

Alison Krauss rang no bells, but I am gratified to see that my Bobbie Gentry notion (which I would not have rung in with) was not completely absurd.

I read a lot of comic books as a kid so I knew Len Wein.

I have had a couple different types of whiskey/whisky, but not Crown Royal. I have had RC Cola.

No guess Monday or Friday.

That's more like it.

I was unresolved between Joel and Daniel when time ran out, so I voted both the minor prophet and other book options.

I didn't make the Leaves of Grass connection on Friday, but Whitman was the only plausible 1855 poet I could think of.

Hey, at least there are some Mr. Greens this week, Christ.

Bungled the "minor prophet" clue.

Crown Royal (and by extension, whisk[e]y) is disgusting. Royal Crown is palatable, if a little difficult to find near me.

Elijah for the prophet.
Have tasted RC Cola, but I don't drink alcohol.
I owned Wein's GS X-Men #1 and X-Men 94 and 95 at one point, so I've known of him for decades.

Bible books...why did it have to be Bible books? Same for 14th century Italian poets. Yeah, need to study those.

Knew the comic book clue even though I'm on record favoring the taxi medallion solution for too many comic book movies - start at $1 billion each.

Alison Krauss was an instaget.

Monday's clue is polling at 17%. Last week, Monday's clue got 15%. Once again, I'm bucking the trend by getting 4/5 the hard way. I had almost no chance on Wolverine. I mean, if I'd thought of it, I'd definitely have written it down. I know of the character. But he wasn't going to come to mind in 30 seconds.
