In the 2010s it so common about sports categories saved until the end of the players not always performing well all I could do was laugh with the teams for Michael Irvin, Mean Joe Greene, and Marcus Allen unknown.

“PRE” SCHOOL $400: It’s defined as “an action taken in advance to protect against possible danger”

Anupama: preventative
Ivan: preemptive
Dennis: preventive

Response wanted: precaution

The September 29, 2005 (No, I did not have to look that up.) version of today’s FJ! clue: In 2004 a top entry in a 6,000 mile albatross race was sponsored by a descendant of this man who died in 1834

The category for that clue was FAMOUS ENGLISHMEN.

What to say about Ivan’s FJ! wager? Dennis found it handy and took full advantage of the opening. There are a lot of ways to throw away $22,000 and today’s version seems to be contagious lately.

Let's just hope this is the last we see of this epidemic for awhile.

I'm guessing that Ivan's favorite The Princess Bride character is Vizzini.

J! sure loves that particular poet. I saw two different clues about that specific poem in just a few weeks of intensive watching right before I taped. I was so ready for it, if it had come up while I was there, which it did not.

It required a surprising level of self-control not to yell the FJ! answer from the audience.

How many literary characters can be depicted with an albatross literally hanging from his neck? Once you recognize the Ancient Mariner, you just have to remember who wrote the poem.
Watching Anupama's score crumble was heartbreaking. We spent a lot of time chatting before and after that day's games, and she is just a super nice person. She received many heartfelt hugs from her fellow contestants.

Yes, I'm commenting on this game before it airs in my locale.

theFJguy apologizes. In fussing with including the images I completely forgot that important part of the routine. At least The Jeopardy! Fan had it six hours ago.

Oh, I just remembered something fun about this episode.

There was a technical glitch with the lecterns during FJ!, which caused Ivan and Dennis's FJ! screens to switch places. When Alex looked at Dennis's screen and said his wager was only $4000, Dennis had a moment of visible panic. The judge who writes down the wagers during the break halted the show, they corrected the displays on the lecterns, and they resumed by re-revealing Dennis's actual response and wager for Alex to announce. But by then, the audience had realized that it was Ivan who had bet only $4k, so as soon as Dennis's all-in wager was revealed, the outcome was known. So, it ended up being an even wilder finish than just a too-small wager from Ivan.

Yes, the handyman finds it quite handy, I'm sure. Could the FJ be anymore obvious? I found the Frankenstein DD tougher.

Sorry to see Anupama end up in the red. As a tennis fan, not in Fed camp -- but as a tennis fan, you sure appreciate what he has done this year. Vamos Rafa!

I'll try to stay clear of any Wagering Vikings today, they're probably all in a foul mood.

Coincidental that Anupama appears on the first anniversary of Arnold Palmer's death?

0 for sports teams? No surprise. There's probably a good correlation between sports knowledge and wagering theory.

Admittedly, I am pleased when an ignorant wager costs a player the game.

The $400 pre clue was atrocious. Why was there no reversal there? Clue might as well have been "The number I'm thinking of between 1 and 10."

Maybe it'll serve as a warning to future contestants? (Yeah I know...) What the hell is going on with the first place wagering this season???

Did I hear her right, did she say the Rockies? A classic case of desperate guessing digging the hole even deeper.

Instaget FJ.
The tiebreaker is a lie.

Just started up the episode...I think I met Dennis! I think he was an alternate the day I was there, even though that was back in March. Looks just like him, and the guy I met was from San Diego, so it fits. He didn't get on the show that day, and I had a good chat with him while we were waiting for our cabs. Nice dude. Glad to see him get his day in the sun.

Dennis was indeed the returning alternate from the previous taping run. And yes, super nice guy.

OMG THE RESPONSES WERE STILL SWITCHED IN THE FINAL CUT

The "Who is Coleridge?" was shown in Ivan's handwriting for both of them! Only as they cut to credits did they show both halves of Dennis's response on the lectern. WOW
