TD 356 - Ball-a-palooza (Final results)
With the four "major" professional sports all playing regular season or playoff games during October, what better time for a sports TD? We'll call this one "Ball-a-palooza" - even with some questions related to activities which utilize objects such as pucks or wheels. Much like a certain "suspended" game show - there are two rounds with six categories each followed by a final (BONUS) round.
Rules/Notes
1) Lowest point total wins; your score for each question is equal to the total number of players submitting that same answer
2) You may use one drop in each of the first two rounds and take zero points for that question
3) You may elect to take the sheep answer for one question in each of the first two rounds
4) There is no bonus for submitting 12 correct responses
5) Wrong responses are the higher of either +10 points or the "sheep" answer +3
6) All answers are due by 8:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.
7) Submit answers via this Google form or PM

Re: TD 356 - Ball-a-palooza
#10 has some kind of glitch in that it only will accept a number answer. I put my answer for #10 in parentheses with my answer for #11.

Re: TD 356 - Ball-a-palooza
For MLS team names, are you looking for the city that the team is associated with or the city where the stadium is physically located? I am aware of a few teams that play in suburbs.
Also, do you mean "Providence Steamrollers", or is there another team with a similar but distinctive name I don't know about?

For the MLS team, the city that each team is associated with [like for NFL the Cowboys would be Dallas, not Arlington (the location of the stadium)].Ironhorse wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2017 5:42 pm For MLS team names, are you looking for the city that the team is associated with or the city where the stadium is physically located? It is indeed the Providence Steam Roller (two words, not pluralized) - which is a different team than the Steamrollers.

Nnnnnnope. A well-crafted TD to be sure, but I'll assume a max score for myself and watch this one from the sidelines.

Re: TD 356 - Ball-a-palooza (Q1-Q3 revealed)
Dropped the wrong question, was going to go with Immelman/S. Africa but decided to drop it and answer the Olympic one. And only 1 pick for Jimmie for Nascar? Never change TD, never change...

WRONG ANSWERS - 10
MarkBarrett (H - Speed Skating)
Don't take away my sports credentials. I know Bonnie Blair is Speed Skating and Misty May-Treanor is Beach Volleyball.
On my paper where I write down my answers before submitting I had H. Beach Volleyball which would have been six points. What I did was switch horses midstream in putting the H. and then thinking Bonnie Blair the Speed Skater might be a better answer. All fine as I would have saved a point. The problem was keeping the H. set up the error.

Re: TD 356 - Ball-a-palooza (Q1-Q3 revealed)
Deciding which of Q2 and Q3 to drop and which to sheep was a coin flip. I know little about the nationalities of golfers and nothing about auto racing, other than the presence of cars, drivers, and a track. Good to see I made the right choice.
