I disagree; every writer mentioned here is fair game.bomtr wrote:Allende yes; the other two I would say are beyond the Jeopardy! canon.cheezguyty wrote:Isabel Allende, Manuel Puig, Gabriela Mistralbomtr wrote:There aren't many South American authors that would be asked for (can anyone add to Borges, Neruda, Vargas Llosa, and Garcia Marquez?)

Brian — thumbs up for the Red Green shout-out. I actually get CBC here in Michigan, so I would often see Red Green at 12:30 then another bunch of episodes at night on PBS.
At least one day a week, that slot is now occupied by My Goldfish Is Evil. I don't care if the show sucks; that's the best name for a cartoon since... I dunno, Biker Mice from Mars?
I had never used foolscap paper. I thought 8 1/2 by 13 was legal size. And any "big" paper we used in school was traditional 11 x 18 construction paper.
Finally, and unsurprisingly, I've never heard of ANY of the South American writers just mentioned.
