Got to Lesotho in no time, but might have been assisted subliminally by Alex Jacob's tweet
Surprised by the Egypt TS.
NHO maul as a noun
I really liked the bounce tonight - really forces you to focus 100% on the game. Maybe I'll try that strategy when I get on the show

I'd say that's probably an accurate assessment, plain old maple was actually my first thought as well but quickly realized what they were looking for.BKavett wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2017 11:52 pmI wonder if they all thought the way I did, I knew it was Maple but the clue said "two words" and I had no idea what the rest of it was. I've only ever heard "Maple tree."threearruda wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2017 8:19 pm As a resident for many years of my childhood (albeit not a maple syrup user), it bothers me slightly that none of the three knew the Vermont state tree.. ah well.
Lesotho popped into my head just from the category name, because it being within South Africa is one of those trivia facts that always comes up, so once the clue was read I didn't even have to think about it. Never even thought of Swaziland.

Worst answer of the tournament? Possibly.
Best post on the board? Definitely.

(Oh, and another note, supposedly, although Westerners never pronounce it this way, "Myanmar" is actually two syllables, myan-mar. (Don't worry if you can't see, or can't pronounce, "myan" as one syllable, closest cognate I can come up with is the teasing sound "nyah". "Myanmar" is also supposed to sound similar to, if not identical to, Burma, supposedly the pronunciation in the country itself never changed from Burma to Myanmar.)

Weird, I could've sworn I watched all my Tuesday shows.
I only got about three or four right in the J! round, but one was a Lach Trash on "Sugar maple".
That one Three of a Kind clue was tricky since two of the three sites were in VA, and it was easy to assume the third one was too.
Where the HELL did I get Lesotho from? Hawley-Smoot rule again?
