On Tuesday afternoon, Elon Musk's company SpaceX launched the Falcon Heavy, the world's most powerful currently-operating rocket. At least two of the Falcon Heavy's first-stage rocket boosters landed back on Earch at the Kennedy Space Center. (During the Apollo program, the boosters were discarded after each mission.)

Musk, SpaceX, and Falcon Heavy are all Jeopardy candidates, along with the Tesla car, which was the payload on this mission.

Small clarification. It became the most powerful currently operating rocket. The Shuttle and Saturn V (from the Apollo missions) were more powerful than the Falcon Heavy, although the Shuttle had a smaller payload capacity than Falcon Heavy to low earth orbit (due to the higher weight of the Shuttle itself).

Looking ahead, NASA's SLS will be more powerful when (or if???) it flies. I believe there may be another more powerful rocket coming in the near future as well. (Arienne? Blue Origin?)

A DNA sample from the Cheddar Man, the oldest mostly complete skeleton found in the UK has been analyzed and found the earliest humans in the UK had “dark brown to black skin.”

Good shot at being a video (well still picture) clue and enough TOMs to make 'Cheddar' the probable response.

Not 100% feeling the J! vibe from this but a good chance at LL.

A U.S. judge on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit seeking the return by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan of a Pablo Picasso masterpiece that a German Jewish businessman was allegedly forced to sell at a low price, to fund an escape from the Nazis and fascism.

U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska in Manhattan said the great-grandniece of Paul Leffmann, who once owned Picasso’s “The Actor,” could not show under New York law that he sold the painting under “duress,” justifying its return to her family.
And a Wiki link for the painting itself: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Actor_(painting)

Russell Wilson, quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks, has been signed by the New York Yankees (he was drafted by the Texas Rangers in 2013 and they traded him for "future considerations"). He will attend training camp in March and will be assigned to the Yankees' AA farm club in Trenton, NJ.

Another pop culture connection--he's married to singer/actress Ciara.

Too bad Wilson is an infielder. I would have loved to see him on the mound facing Tim Tebow, who is in the Mets' organization.

The Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea have begun. (And let's respect the time difference by being polite with spoilers in this thread.)

The official mascot is Soohorang, a white tiger. The white tiger has long been considered the guardian animal of Korea, and the name reflects that. "Sooho" means protection and "rang" is part of the word for tiger.

He's super cute.

Olympics Women's Figure Skating...
SpoilerShow
https://jezebel.com/mirai-nagasu-just-b ... 1822916190
Mirai Nagasu landed a triple axel at the figure skating team event’s women’s free skate, making her the third female figure skater, and the first American woman, to land the jump in the Winter Olympics.
Axels are the hardest jumps in figure skating; they also have a half spin more than their designation. (A single axel is 1.5 rotations, double 2.5, triple 3.5)
...only two other American women have even managed to land one at a competitive event. The first, of course, was Tonya Harding, in 1991. The second was Kimmie Meissner, in 2005.

Her name was Jan, and because she was primarily a stage actress, I'm wondering how she'd ever make it onto Jeopardy! Maybe in a clue as the actress who quit a play because she was afraid of this co-star, who punched a hole in the set (or maybe a dressing room wall) in a fit of pique...

Who is Alec Baldwin?
Also passed away this weekend - Reg E. Cathey, a great stage actor who also made a name for himself on The Wire and House of Cards.

New Mattel card game: Dos

From CNBC:
Mattel is launching the new card game Dos next month in hopes of giving its nearly 50-year-old Uno brand a second life. Dos has similar rules as Uno, except players make two piles of cards and can throw down two cards at a time instead of one.
