For the Sweeney Todd bonus, are you only going for professions that are *sung*, or are you including the ones mentioned in the spoken parts?

A spice is a seed, fruit, root, bark, or other plant substance primarily used for flavoring, coloring or preserving food. Spices are distinguished from herbs, which are the leaves, flowers, or stems of plants used for flavoring or as a garnish

Damn, my joke response of "saltpeter" (from my wife's cooking) backfired on me and turned into a singleton! It turns out to be a real spice (with label warnings). Luckily I joined the herd on Q2. On my way to the cellar, as I forgot to use my drop or sheep.

I believe that it's a brining ingredient - I learned of it when watching the episode of "Good Eats" when Alton makes corned beef.

I’m not sure saltpeter or cream of tartar qualify as spices, but since I didn’t include a definition, I’m inclined to accept both since they’re located in the spice aisle of the supermarket. What do others think?

It's an ingredient in almost all cured meats. Chinese saltpeter pork is just one example. Classifying it as a spice is interesting, though, since I'm not sure that it imparts any flavor.

A cursory google search definitely would seem to be against cream of tartar. Saltpeter you could make a bit more of an argument for.

However, I'm in no way a cooking expert.

In the song A Little Priest from Sweeney Todd, Mrs. Lovett and her partner in crime weigh the pros and cons of making pies with the flesh of men of various professions – you know, with the price of meat what is, when you get it, if you get it…
Name any one of the professions, vocations, titles or trades mentioned in the song - besides priest and the two referenced in question #2. If you have no idea, just take a guess - there are roughly 30 professions named in the song:

Am I looking at a different version of the lyrics? The one I have has potter mentioned (rhyming with "hotter").

ETA: It looks like I got credit for this as a singleton, so I'm guessing it was just listed in the wrong place. :)

Really surprised Hamilton or Les Mis wasn't sheep. I avoided those because I thought they'd be the obvious choices.
