  • (1) You share a first name with a player.
  • (1) You share a surname with a player.
  • (1) A player is from your hometown.
  • (1) A player is from the town you're currently in.
  • (1) A player is from Canada.
  • (1) A player does something silly while being introduced.
If I played this while watching my own episodes I would have been tipsy before a single clue had been revealed.

I feel like there should also be one for when someone gets a wrong answer saying "Buda" instead of "Pest" (or some similarly two-possible-choices answer) and Alex says, "oooh, sorry, you picked the wrong one."

Yeah. It was hard to watch. You could actually see the panic set in. And then grow. And grow.

Some of my friends play a game where you pick a player at the beginning and declare if you're gonna drink every time they get one right, or twice every time they get one wrong. On top of that, on every clue, the first person to shout out the right answer gets to make everyone else drink.

This came up in the Friday night match, and my wife was very confused when I started laughing at the clue.

If I ever get on, I just know I'll get a 50/50/0 with Tigris/Euphrates. Probably on a DD.

I'm beginning to think that for this to work "for real" you'd just have to fill out a bingo card and drink to the things you've chosen. …which sounds like a good way to manage drinking games in general, actually.
I'm thinking we'll try something like this: bingo cards will contain a mix of possible Alexisms, contestant statements, scoring situations, etc. Alexisms are fair game for all, but each at-home player must select only one show player to track for the other stuff. And clearly, whether "your" player actually does well on the show is of no consequence in the bingo game, but it helps if he/she manages to ring in a lot. (To be fair to those bingo players whose contestants get shut out repeatedly, maybe we'll add "contestant deploys signalling device on camera with highly audible clicking.") If tracking one contestant is too easy, then we'll open it up to all three. My kids can beta test this with Rice Chex bingo markers that they can later redeem for M&Ms.

I'm noting that yesterday's game in particular (Mon. 1/29/18) would be a good one to which we might apply some of these "T!I!E!" scoring features. Not to SPOIL the results for other viewers, but despite plenty of time in the red and negs aplenty, the players kept their cool and seemed to be having fun throughout.
