Are you still working on the last one? If so, for 15 down, A Spanish gentleman is a handsome fellow, I have:
Spoiler
A + don (Spanish gentleman) + is = Adonis
And, having solved that, 23 across is
Spoiler
Tasmania = part of Australia
settled...upon return = tas ("sat," reversed)
("with" signalling that "tas" is placed next to the the second part of the clue)
great enthusiasm = mania

Last one is done. I will post the completed grid.

Still working on the WSJ directionless puzzle. Making progress but haven't placed anything in the grid yet
