R: 32, W: 2, costing 1400
Coryat: 25,000
FJ:
DD: 3/3
LT: high c, Lloyds of London, (Lebanon), (pressure), glider

Timing:
2:51 + 3:24 = 6:15 (break at 13 clues)
6:52
1:29

The break happened after 13 clues, which I believe is pretty standard when the DD pops up just before clue 15. The game would feel very strange restarting after the DD and stopping again just a couple of clues later.

After my bad day yesterday, the averages work out today. Ran board games. Stumped in songs. Fittingly, I went backwards in backwards words, with both of my misses and none right. Only got one novel. Kind of bummed that I didn't recognize Catcher in the Rye, since it is one of the pieces of lit I've read in the last couple of years, trying to fill in some of the gaps in my high school education.

In FJ, I assumed that the islands were in the Adriatic, since there are a lot of islands there, most of which are part of Greece. My problem was recalling what country was the next one over. Went with Turkey, thinking I only had a 50/50 shot of being right. Turns out I had that bit of geography down better than I thought, (Way better than the Balkans, which are still mostly a jumble.)

Wagering: Rebecca stuck to the leader's script. Natasha is in a nasty case of Stratton's dilemma. Her choices are wagering almost nothing (to win if both other players miss), or almost everything (to win if both she and Lynn are right). Her wager in the middle accomplished neither. Lynn needs both other players to miss to have a shot at winning. If that happens, there's a good chance she will miss as well. My calculated max wager for her was 399. And if your going to risk that little on the hope of both other players missing, wagering nothing is not at all crazy.

the clue mentioned mainland...how does one choose cyprus (an island) as the country?
Yeah, I was disgusted with myself for picking "Cyprus", as I realized mainland should disqualify it.

came home just in time for the final clue. No one remembered Ross Perot is from Texas? :o
That was really unexpected. The elder Ross Perot was born and raised in Texarkana, then moved to Dallas and raised his family here. The family's name is on our outstanding science and nature museum.

FJ was a WECIB for me. Sad news that no one knew Van the Man Morrison but I’m used to that. Those contestant interviews seemed badly edited today.

I said "Morrison" for that one and after Alex said "Van Morrison" my wife said "Oh, I thought you meant Jim." No respect I tell ya. :D

I probably would have been more hesitant about Turkey on FJ if it hadn't been for the Syrian refugees being in the news recently.

Instead of west or east, I went south to Libya. Doesn't sound like many people got the wrong answer in that direction.
I thought Egypt; for some reason I had the Colossus of Rhodes being somehow Egyptian. At least the islands seem to be due north of Egypt's Mediterranean coast.

FJ--easy peasy. No way that betting the others miss should pay off... but it did. :|
was dumfounded by that as well

Though they oddly called him a bluesman, which might have caused someone familiar with him not to ring in.

I follow the retail scene very closely, so I'm surprised I never encountered the Amazon/Whole Foods buyout.

Ran Board Games, and got all but Baobab in "B" Prepared.

Lach Trash: High C, Merriweather Lewis

So have I finally snapped my FJ! losing streak as of today? The answer may or may not surprise you.
Spoiler
Yes, I got this one right.

I had somewhat of an idea as to how the Greek islands are positioned. They leaned eastward in my mind and that put me in Istanbul, not Constantinople.

I know Van Morrison's music fairly well, and in no way is he a "bluesman". BB King, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, and Robert Johnson are bluesmen. If Morrison has any crossover into another genre it is with jazz.

I clammed for this reason. The music of his with which I'm familiar, including the great Astral Weeks, ain't blues.

Also, that giant monogram on his blazer (or is it the mic stand) in the image above -- wow.

Yeah, this mystified me as well. At best, you could say that he had bluesy elements in his music. I was stuck thinking of Bono in Rattle and Hum, but that really made no sense either.

I was right on the poll for before Easter. I would never have voted it would be on a pick a country one. Well done and thank you for snapping the streak on one I got right as well.

“B” PREPARED $1600: This adjective means characteristic of the lord who penned “Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage”

Rebecca was correct with adding -ic to the man’s name. I took a neg with adding -esque and now wonder if that gets by the judges as well?
I'm not a judge, but I think negging yourself on this one is unduly harsh and would give you credit for a correct response. Googling "byronesque" gives a ton of hits, including https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Byronesque. According to most of the sites, even "Byronian" should have been acceptable.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

Which of these guys were from Belfast?

Van Morrison's singles with Them provide some of the most definitive statements of early blues rock.
Is this not a "bluesman"?:

By your standards The Beatles are also bluesmen because they did some R&B covers. There's a reason why some other posters who have an awareness of the Van Morrison catalogue were confused by the clue.
