Dog'gone it. I thought the title of this would be fairly limited knowledge here, especially when it can be confused with String Of Pearls. It didn't occur to me that the artist might be scored together.
I'm curious as to how many of these were song title selections.

I just want to know how many of the “O Tannenbaum” responses were actually “O Christmas Tree” responses. I hesitated to pick that option for that reason.

Title for me as it's a pretty famous piece of music. I had choices and just did not make the best one obviously. I thought "At Last" would be the sheep and it would have been if I went that way.

Yeah, I was fuzzy about the scoring too. I picked it as the least obvious title of the instrumental selections. Now I see I could've gone with Ella singing a song title right off the bat!

There were only three of us with "O Tannenbaum." Mine was definitely "O Tannenbaum."

O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
Wie treu sind deine Blätter.
Du gruenst nicht nur zur Sommerzeit,
Nein auch im Winter, wenn es schneit,
etc.

Just adding: Of course if the piece actually was "O Christmas Tree," now I should be sinking like a rock in the rankings!

In response to questions: 7 said "In the Mood"; 2 said Glenn Miller; 3 said "At Last"; 5 said Etta James. All three said "O Tannenbaum." No one said "O Christmas Tree" or "Maryland, My Maryland" or the Iowa state song.

Hope you have better luck with that than I do! When I go with what I think may be the most obscure, it sheeps. When I go with what I think may be the most obvious so that people will avoid it, it sheeps. When I close my eyes and pick one at random, it sheeps. And.... when I think, "stay away from that one at all costs," someone gets a singleton with it. Or it goes unused. Case in point, I figured Frankfurt, my first impulse, would be a very popular answer for the city in Germany, so I skipped it -- and no one picked it.

I don't think of myself as a masochist -- but it's one reason I really enjoy the TDs! Hope the TD hosts feel appreciated, because they certainly are.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

507 - MINNESOTA

The 507 is home to the Mayo Clinic, perhaps the most vaunted medical practice in the world, whose clients have included Ernest Hemingway, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Charles Lindbergh, Billy Graham, Lou Gehrig, Johnny Carson, King Hussein, and Jack Benny. (It's an old-timey list because of HIPAA; we no longer know what celebrities go there.)

And I thought that it was significantly larger (Wikipedia says a population of 244,951), but I've only seen it passing through on a train. I was actually thinking of Augsburg initially since I knew that it was the Bavarian capital (also considered Freiburg), but then my mind turned to Aachen and I thought "Who else will even know that name?" I should have known....

I have a problem with the scoring of this. First of all, Palliative Care or Palliative Medicine if you prefer, absolutely requires a MD and is a recognized speciality, though a newer one. Secondly, Oral and maxillofacial surgery is absolutely a medical specialty, and many OMFS practitioners have MDs, not DDS/DMD's, as there is a 6 year residency track to get an MD and a 4 year track to be a non MD OS (I am a dentist, btw). If you would like to make the argument that palliative medicine is invalid because it's a sub speciality, which I will agree it is, though perhaps the question should have specified that subspecialties were not acceptable, then why was something like epileptology, which is clearly a subspecialty of neurology accepted?

Yep. I thought adding the "rhino" would make it a singleton. Alas, no dice. Classic spelling bee word right there, too.
