Agreed. It might be a hard sell, but maybe they need a hard limit on the total number of pitching changes allowed during a nine inning game.
They have put a cap on visits that don't result in a change, so that's a start.

Also, we need bullpen carts back.
Only if the top is a ball cap with the team's logo.

I blame the endless pitching changes on Whitey Herzog and his Bullpen by Committee, but he may not be the original sinner. Again, a modest proposal - you put a pitcher in, he stays in unless he gives up a baserunner (not including fielder's choice). The price to pull him - a free pass. Instant 20 minutes saved per game. You're welcome, baseball. And, not just any 20 minutes, the worst 20 minutes of the game.
I grew up on Bob Gibson. I can do without the macho image and the chin music, but boy did he move the game along.

It can be done!
I still remember the 9-0 1:56 game I went to in 2004:

Scott Elarton got the complete game, pitching as if he were double-parked outside Jacobs Field.

If they come up with something equally amusing, I'll allow it. (Someone mocked up a fighter jet as the Nationals cart. The Padres could use a Popemobile. But if you're stumped, yeah, go with the classic.
