Wasn’t sure if Sark had enough people do I didn’t choose it. I checked after And Wikipedia says alternately “about 500” and “492” (which seems like an estimate in the source. What’s your source that shows it definitively has more than 500 people?

I reviewed the cacti. The answers that were wrong yesterday are still wrong. But I'm not convinced any of my photos are the organ pipe.

606 - KENTUCKY

With 120 counties, Kentucky has more than all but two other states. See if you can figure out these Kentucky counties.
  • One county shares its name with a Kentucky pioneer, and also his descendants Pat and Debby who became popular singers.
  • One county takes its name from the river that forms the state's northern boundary.
  • One county has the same name as the lake formed by the Glen Canyon Dam.
  • What county has the same name as Lisa, Bart, and Maggie?
  • Kentucky has counties with the same name as the most populous counties in Michigan and Nevada. Name either. (Will be scored separately.)
  • Kentucky, a border state that didn't secede, has counties bearing the names of the two principal generals of North and South. Name both.
  • One county is named for a revolutionary war general, as is a fort most famous as a repository for precious metal.
  • One county is named for a great man of colonial America who never set foot in Kentucky but invented a stove, bifocals, the public library, the fire department...
  • One county shares its name with a president who was born in Kentucky.
  • One county is named for Zebulon, who has the most famous peak in the Rockies named for him.

I thought my Mets would sheep, I was wrong on that. This was the question I struggled the most with how to answer since I could name all 30 easily and I know probably 3/4 of the other folks in the game could as well. I simply got lucky.

This question had me spending extra time on it as well as I knew there were singletons or doubletons to be had and it was just a matter of picking a good one. The strategy I settled on was to avoid either Eastern division. 20 teams left. Usually I just pick a NL West team while this time I thought that could be a hot spot for some as it can be considered division #6 as in some newspapers will list them last. 15 teams left. Cardinals, Cubs, and Pirates have too many fans. Out.

I considered Brewers & Reds out of NL loyalty, but then decided AL Central (other than Indians) was the play. Tigers? Too well known. Royals? Recent World Series winners. I went with the White Sox in thinking well known enough that others would avoid and not so unknown that others would flock. White Sox fans on the J! Board? I had no recollection of devotion posted and President Obama was not playing, so I expected 3 points at worst while hoping for 1 pt.

If in a later game floridagator goes for a different sport I'll have to exercise a different strategy since I laid out my attack on this one. ;)

For the baseball question, I spent about five seconds deciding which team I've spent the least amount of time thinking about over a lifetime. Sure enough, it sheeped!

I originally was going with the Twins on the baseball question, then debated about switching to Tigers or Orioles.
Of course I picked the most popular one of the three.

I spend a good 15 minutes agonizing over my choice of baseball teams, since I knew there's plenty of baseball fans among TD folks, and even casual/non-fans can probably name a dozen teams. Finally figured that I could maybe finally get a good score picking the Yankees, since everyone would avoid the 'obvious' answer. Cardinals unused? Sure whatever. The last two WS champs singletons? Maybe people avoided them for the same reason I picked the Yankees. Padres the sheep??? It'll be the last time they're first in anything for the next decade.

Sorry to cost you a point, but I went with Yankees out of irony. As the expression goes, I always root for the Cardinals, and whoever is playing against the Yankees!

On the baseball question, I also thought it over for awhile and ended up with the Padres. I knew I should have went with an obvious answer, but I tried getting cute. I was looking for the most boring team in the league. I was also trying to avoid teams people might consider unknown: the four most recent additions, any of the smaller metropolitan areas, any team that had moved to a new city. Big city. Not that new. Just boring. A little too boring.

I have gotten religion on the cheese. I previously combined everyone who said gouda and edam. The photo was of gouda. I have decided it was not fair to penalize people who correctly said gouda by combining them; neither would it be fair to penalize those who said edam because I did not pin the answer. So they are now separate entries, and this affects those who answered one or the other or took the sheep option. The scores on the previous reveal are correct.

For the business, I knew Andersen was one of the window companies but figured people had heard of it. The other one that came immediately to mind was Pella which I went with without thinking too much. Fast forward to this past weekend, the inn my wife and I were staying at was having its windows replaced with Marvin windows, and I had a serious facepalm moment knowing that my Pella answer was wrong...

There was time until Monday 9 AM to change your answer.
I'd rather cuddle then have sex. If you're into grammar, you'll understand.

My answer of Thessalonia for the European Island probably should have been marked wrong. I was trying to go for Cephalonia but instead pulled something very close to the name of Greece's second biggest city and the namesake of a New Testament book. I looked it up afterwards and couldn't find an island called Thessalonia. I think I got the Pillsbury Dough Boy one wrong too but I don't remember exactly what I put and that might have just been close enough to count.
I had a dream that I was asleep and then I woke up and Jeopardy! was on.
