I didn't get Casablanca but the missus did. When she told me that was her guess, I shrugged and thought, well, at least she put down something. So even if Casablanca had occurred to me, I probably wouldn't have gone with it. I had no idea the place had ever been liberated.

Muffed Columbo's line with "just one more QUESTION". So close.

I've seen Casablanca. A lot (though To Have and Have Not is better). It didn't come to mind.

Kept thinking down to the wire. I ended up figuring it out after two wrong answers, Trebek's "top 20" TOM may(?) have helped, but I think the clue could've used a little time pinning.

Theodosia did help me, mostly because I can't say it didn't. I imagine I would have gotten it otherwise, but this still happened before I saw the clue:

Poe and Louis Vuitton were practically self-evident to me; I had to think a little about Burr, but I thought I might have recalled from one of the live trivia apps that he had a daughter Theodosia who was eventually lost at sea, and the survival fact ensured I didn't pick the wrong duelist; once I started trying to think of films whose titles simply named places on Thursday, Casablanca fell into my lap; and on Friday when I tried to think of novels involving travel, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea came to mind first, and once I thought of Verne I realized that wasn't the book Passepartout was in, but I already had a correct response by then.

I think my dad guessed "cross" for the Mayan clue.

Lovecraft on Monday, Dunkirk on Thursday. Theodosia helped me.

I attended this week of tapings.
