BONUS ROUND

13. BONUS #1: Choose one of the two options below.

A. 3 - Sports where one of the teams above had a playoff matchup against my wife's favorite team since we were married in 1999. Of the 10 head-to-head postseason meetings (1 Blue Jays vs. Orioles, 6 Penguins vs. Capitals, 3 Seahawks vs. Redskins), how many times have my wife's teams advanced to the next round? [Correct answer = -2, Answer within +/- 1 = -1]

Nine people took a shot at this one and all came up empty - very similar to the actual head-to-head meetings…

2000 NHL Eastern Quarterfinals: Penguins 4, Capitals 1
2001 NHL Eastern Quarterfinals: Penguins 4, Capitals 2
2005 NFC Divisional Round: Seahawks 20, Redskins 10
2007 NFC Wild Card Round: Seahawks 35, Redskins 14
2009 NHL Eastern Semifinals: Penguins 4, Capitals 3
2012 NFC Wild Card Round: Seahawks 24, Redskins 14
2016 NHL Eastern 2nd Round: Penguins 4, Capitals 2
2016 AL Wild Card: Blue Jays 5, Orioles 2
2017 NHL Eastern 2nd Round: Penguins 4, Capitals 3
2018 NHL Eastern 2nd Round: Capitals 4, Penguins 2

So the correct answer is 1 - which just happened this season after an 0-9 stretch for my wife's teams.

For the second straight time, their clinching victory came on June 12 - which is also my son's birthday. I'm fairly confident I missed a question in your last TD about Northern Arizona - and again, NAU prevented me from the perfecto here. Walkup Skydome made me think of Thomas Walkup, the former Stephen F. Austin star, but clearly had the wrong lumberjacks; figured it was safer to leave that one blank. Good thing is I know what I need to study for next time!

Thanks for another fun TD clt! Looking forward to the next one and congrats to the winners!

Oh, wow, I'm sorry clt013! I got the author of this game mixed up with Morbeedo's recent animals game! But I meant to thank you! (It was going through my mind that I thought I had already thanked Morbeedo, back on his game thread. But then I didn't scroll back.)
