BONUS ROUND

13. BONUS #1: Choose one of the two options below.

A. 3 - Sports where one of the teams above had a playoff matchup against my wife's favorite team since we were married in 1999. Of the 10 head-to-head postseason meetings (1 Blue Jays vs. Orioles, 6 Penguins vs. Capitals, 3 Seahawks vs. Redskins), how many times have my wife's teams advanced to the next round? [Correct answer = -2, Answer within +/- 1 = -1]

Nine people took a shot at this one and all came up empty - very similar to the actual head-to-head meetings…

2000 NHL Eastern Quarterfinals: Penguins 4, Capitals 1
2001 NHL Eastern Quarterfinals: Penguins 4, Capitals 2
2005 NFC Divisional Round: Seahawks 20, Redskins 10
2007 NFC Wild Card Round: Seahawks 35, Redskins 14
2009 NHL Eastern Semifinals: Penguins 4, Capitals 3
2012 NFC Wild Card Round: Seahawks 24, Redskins 14
2016 NHL Eastern 2nd Round: Penguins 4, Capitals 2
2016 AL Wild Card: Blue Jays 5, Orioles 2
2017 NHL Eastern 2nd Round: Penguins 4, Capitals 3
2018 NHL Eastern 2nd Round: Capitals 4, Penguins 2

So the correct answer is 1 - which just happened this season after an 0-9 stretch for my wife's teams.

The Seahawks beat Minnesota in a January NFC Wild Card game, the Blue Jays beat the Orioles in the AL Wild Card and Rangers in the ALDS in October and in between, the Penguins won the Stanley Cup. For the second straight time, their clinching victory came on June 12 - which is also my son's birthday. I'm fairly confident I missed a question in your last TD about Northern Arizona - and again, NAU prevented me from the perfecto here. Walkup Skydome made me think of Thomas Walkup, the former Stephen F. Austin star, but clearly had the wrong lumberjacks; figured it was safer to leave that one blank. Good thing is I know what I need to study for next time!

Thanks for another fun TD clt! Looking forward to the next one and congrats to the winners!

Oh, wow, I'm sorry clt013! I got the author of this game mixed up with Morbeedo's recent animals game! But I meant to thank you! (It was going through my mind that I thought I had already thanked Morbeedo, back on his game thread. But then I didn't scroll back.)

BONUS ROUND

14. BONUS #2: Choose one of the three options below [Correct answers = -1 each up to 5 for A, 6 for B & 8 for C]
Also, you may name more than those numbers and go for an extra "most correct, no incorrect" bonus of -1 for A, -2 for B or -3 (and -1 for 2nd) for C

A. 5 - Big 4 team nicknames (Cardinals, Giants, Jets, Panthers, Rangers) that could play against two of my favorite trio of teams. Name franchise "location" names that can play all three of the Blue Jays, Penguins and Seahawks. [Example: Though Miami has teams in all three sports, it does not qualify because the hockey team is the Florida Panthers.]

Arizona (Diamondbacks, Coyotes, Cardinals)
Chicago (Cubs/White Sox, Blackhawks, Bears)
Detroit (Tigers, Red Wings, Lions)
Los Angeles (Angels/Dodgers, Kings, Chargers/Rams)
Minnesota (Twins, Wild, Vikings)
New York (Mets/Yankees, Islanders/Rangers, Giants/Jets)
Philadelphia (Phillies, Flyers, Eagles)
Tampa Bay (Rays, Lightning, Buccaneers)
Washington (Nationals, Capitals, Redskins)

1stlvlthinker [8 correct (All but Arizona), 0 incorrect] = -5
Ironhorse [8 correct (All but Arizona), 0 incorrect] = -5

Most correct responses with none incorrect (Extra bonus = -1)
xxaaaxx [9 correct (All of them!), 0 incorrect] = -6
Dammit, did I miss the Coyotes being renamed? I didn't put Arizona since I thought they were still the Phoenix Coyotes.
Won some of Ben Stein's money. None of Alex Trebek's, and maybe some of Chris Harrison's?
