CONTESTANT INTERVIEWS
Alex: Katherine Pisarro-Grant is from Brooklyn, New York. We introduced you as a verbal identity consultant.
Katherine: Yes.
Alex: What is that exactly?
Katherine: I work for a branding agency doing writing, naming and language strategy. So I get to do a lot of thinking about how words affect the big picture.
Alex: What big picture are we talking about here? The political world?
Katherine: No, mostly corporations.
Alex: Corporations.
Katherine: So, you know. That big picture.
Alex: Oh, that.
Katherine: That pays for things.
Alex: That big picture.
Alex: Adam Manning is from Denver, Colorado. Says you were a spiteful vegetarian for a while.
Adam: I was, yeah. For five years.
Alex: Why?
Adam: My dad actually challenged me after one of my friends gave up red meat for a summer between college semesters. And just to prove I could do it, I actually ended up giving up meat for five years, just to prove him wrong, so.
Alex: Just to prove him wrong?
Adam: Yeah.
Alex: You and your dad have issues, right?
Adam: We have--we have a great relationship. It's fantastic.
Alex: Okay, good.
Alex: Diana Hsu is from Massachusetts. You're gonna be the chair of a 4,000-plus sci-fi convention that's coming up next year, a year and a half from now.
Diana: I am. Well, actually, I'll be the chair for the year 2020. So not this coming year, but the year after that.
Alex: Okay. And what exactly do you have to do, and what exactly is this convention?
Diana: It's a sort of fan-oriented science-fiction convention, so we cover a lot of different things, pretty much whatever sci-fi fans are into, we have something for you.
Alex: So if I showed up dressed as Chewbacca, you would welcome me?
Diana: With open arms. You might win a prize. We have a great costume competition.
Alex: I'm sure you do.

Re: Thursday, June 14, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]
Too bad the players did not know how to complete “Drive for show” with the U.S. Open beginning today. Funnier was three tries to complete Sherwin-Williams color Cut the ___.
Adam just had to add the S for the D.O.E. clue. Doesn’t he know that drives people nuts?
The FJ! clue was a miss for me and the players as I matched Adam & Diana’s response with a scratch-out after first writing the twins one.
Diana risked the game dropping to 20600 as Katherine had a possible 21600. Diana is now 2-0 against players named Catherine/Katherine whether the C or the K in front.

Re: Thursday, June 14, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]
Pre-empted on WNEM, so of course neither my DVR nor their online schedule reflects this. How many freaking "Better Deals" shows do we need in a year anyway?!
I used to play a match-three game called Snood, but the meaning of the name must've eluded me over the years.
Can't say I've heard of the word "extradite". $200 being my only miss in a category is weird enough, but when $200 is also my only NHOI...
As poorly as I do on a regular basis, I almost always get at least one Lach Trash, but not today.
Strings? Okay, um... Bow string like Orion? No. Lyra? No. Umm.... oh duh, zodiac. Um.... I have no freaking idea what any of the zodiac constellations even look like so I'm hosed.

We're at 0/9 getting it and 8/9 taking a guess.

9/9. I did put down Gemini to have something, figuring "two" was the key word. Right book, wrong page.

I had to rewind to calculate the bets again, just to confirm I'd seen a possible 'Claven'

I guessed at Gemini, figuring some relationship of knotted to twins being joined together. Never heard of the star.
