Tue - Black Beauty

Sackbut probably wouldn't have been enough, I'd've probably said tuba

Have seen Lion King. If I read Charlotte's Web, I was very young and don't remember.

I have seen parts of the Charlotte's Web animated movie.
(Paul Lynde as Templeton, the wisecracking rat.)

Have the Lion King DVD, but haven't watched it yet (it's "sequel"/The Lion King 2, reviews the original movie from Timon & Pumbaa's point of view & a Who Wants to Be A Millionaire segment with Meredith Vieira).

The whole Mon clue barely made it for me, so no on just sackbut...
For the judge clue I thought: Camera? Is that right?? No, chambers starts with a c and is so much simpler!! forgetting that's what the clue called it...
I assumed the Pere Ubu song was a twist on the movie title, not a steal...
Seeing the CW movie satisfied my curiosity on it...I'm more interested in E.B. White the New Yorker writer. Here is New York is a wonderful long essay about the city. (Not written for The New Yorker, I've just realized...)

Thought Libra, said "I think I like Sagittarius better," went Libra anyway.

I thought of "camera," but I didn't feel like I'd ever heard "in camera" before, so I clammed. Nothing whatsoever on the other two clues.

Sackbut sufficed; I wish I could have seen whether I'd have solved it with only the other information in the clue.

The best!
His musical number is based on my favorite passage in the book. Templeton is reluctant to accompany Charlotte and Wilbur to the fair, but after he hears the animals (is it mainly the sheep?) describe all the fairground garbage, he's in.

OK, sackbut just sounds like an 8th grade fart joke. I don't know which A they are playing (440 Hz, 220 Hz, 110 Hz, or 55), but those distances are huge (from 2.5 feet to 20 feet). I thought about all the pipe/tubing wrapped around a French Horn, but decided they meant physical playing position and trombone was all I could reason, although those Alpine giant horns were an option.
Howzit that the two half- steps from A-B are shorter than the two half-steps from C-D? Higher notes = shorter wavelengths. I vaguely remember half-waves for tubes closed one end which gives a break on pipe length. Gonna have to do some googling and study horn construction hacks.

Charlotte's web was my only WAG, knowing it is popular with J! writers.
I went with Gemini with little confidence and figuring there was an obvious one I couldn't pull. I definitely KNEW it wasn't a Fish or a Crab or any animal.

If I'd said "Popeye's" for Friday's, would that have been right? (I watch on WTNH because WABC hates Jeopardy!, but at least they interrupt it for news nobody cares about instead of commercials. I might have to start recording on both again.)

"Sackbut" wouldn't have done anything for me.
Have not read Charlotte's Web, but I remember watching the animated movie in school.
Saw The Lion King in theaters, and I think it's the only first-run non-Pixar Disney movie that I can say that about.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Instagets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
Libra with some confidence Thursday.
Madagascar with no confidence Friday.

My suspicion the Ubu clue was playable from at least knowing the movie title seems to be proving out as it's currently leading among the extra clues.

Not sure if just "sackbut" would have clicked for me so I left it unchecked.

Read Charlotte's Web.
Seen The Lion King.
I would prefer not to.

Did OK on the extra clues, but this is one of my worst FJ weeks ever at 20%. Oh, well.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.
