FINAL RESULTS Spoiler
Congratulations to our winner, MarkBarrett, who forfeits all winnings due to snark, to our pedantic runner-up and also-ran, floridagator, and to our bronze non-medalist, AFRET CMS, whom I've seen IRL but never met, and to everyone else who participated but finished without distinction, and last and most definitely least, to Enormous Jeans, who stole last place from twelvefootboy (12 ft boy??) with an eye-popping 120 points!
To all who wined and whinged and otherwise expressed displeasure, I shall have my revenge!

This is my last TD, as I despise you all
My only post in the thread: I stereotyped Nebraska as flat bunch of nothing and got lucky.
Where does that fall on the snark-ometer from 1-10?
Oh wait, did I add an exclamation point to my DROP!? That must be it. If it's my response to that thread you started this morning and I responded with YNN then you got off lucky compared to what I was thinking.
Thanks for hosting. Lucky for me that my non-comprehending of the penalty for those early bonus guesses did not hurt too much. I'm sure glad I was caught up on watching FTWD or I would have been mad. At both myself and you for that spoiler.
Another fun TD! I wasn't sure if you wanted his professional name or full, but since I knew how to spell it, I figured I might as well. And if I can't get a singleton with that mouthful, then I might as well quit

Oops, I should have hid that clue in a spoiler box
Nasty but fun TD, and maybe my best finish ever. I'm flabbergasted "Kamchatka" went unused in the final question. I flipped a mental coin, and of course went with the 5-point answer instead of with what would have been a singleton. No Risk players in the group, forsooth? If had shaved those four point off my score, I would have moved from 3rd place into ... let's see ... carry the two ... 3rd place. Woo-hoo!.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

That's a gimme spelling for the many Risk players here, so I'm not surprised it went unused.

Exactly why I avoided it -- and thus avoided thinking differently.
I once spent a year watching Kamchatka from 300 miles away. I was assigned to Shemya, Alaska, from May '81 through June '82. The Kamchatka peninsula was the target landing zone for then-Soviet missile tests, and the Shemya installation did airborne surveillance, radar imaging, and elint monitoring of the Soviet missile program. I was the island medic, taking care of 600 people. Great duty, miserable place. We build a Christmas tree out of packing crates and put it in the main compound, and on Dec 23 it blew into the Bering Sea during a 70-knot williwaw. And yes, we played LOTS of Risk. And Monopoly. And pinochle.

I don't play Risk, but Kamchatka appeared on a recent TD (maybe even the last one before this one?) and I missed it due to a misspelling that changed the pronunciation, I suppose (I think I put Kamtchaka). I knew it this time, but I figured so would everyone else.
