No guess on the presidential year that cost me a perfecto.
I've seen the Thursday movie; I've not read the Friday book.

 :( Somehow I keep mixing up Mussorgsky with Mendelssohn. :?
Yeah, I saw CEot3K. Visited Devil's Tower earlier that summer and I will always remember it came out in 1977.
I read BNW sometime in high school.

Mon - Vespucci, spent too long on Polo before realizing "Panama!" and just couldn't make the right jump in time.
Fri - Nada. While I know a book exists called Brave New World and it was written by Huxley and the title comes from The Tempest...that's it.

Have seen CE3K.
I have a copy of Brave New World from an old "library" work had before they got rid of it...but five years later, still haven't cracked it.
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
Latest movies (1-10): WIthnail & I (7), An Autumn Afternoon (7), Europa Europa (7), Tampopo (9)

Haven't read Brave New World, but saw the 1998 NBC-TV movie with Leonard Nimoy as controller Mond, and everyone had access to the drug Soma.

I realized Close Encounters was right b/c I was watching with my mother and she wondered about E.T., which made me think of Spielberg. I would not have gotten it otherwise, so I'm counting myself wrong.

I Pavloved to Pavlov, rather than Pavlovian.

First of these in a while...!
I read Brave New World so long ago, all I remember is Year of Our Ford. So that helped with this FJ...I'm always surprised to remember - as others have said - that it's from the 30s. I'm always reminded when Huxley comes up that he died the same day as C.S. Lewis...and JFK.

Have seen Close Encounters. Never read BNW, but was my best guess given the clue parameters.

Can't remember whether I got Pavlovian properly or just on the rebound. I've been playing a lot of Civilization V lately, and I don't think I've ever built Alhambra (EDIT: whoops, that's not true -- turns out I built it in my current game, though it doesn't do much), though I've seen the option to do so many times, and I've seen notifications that other civs have built it.

Seen the movie, read the book.

I thought Bald Mountain was a promising site for an old castle.

Saw Close Encounters, have not read Brave New World. I think I first learned of the Ford thing from a WWTBAM question.

Maybe some here will remember this wordplay question from the NPR website a few years back: Take a five-letter word that describes a bad smell and run it backwards through a five-letter word that describes a strong smell to get the name of a composer of classical music.

This is my first 5/5 since I've started keeping track.

Happy I got my first 5/5 before my first 0/5, but for a while there, I was missing more than I was getting.

(Edit to add that I've seen parts of Close Encounters, but I don't think I've seen the whole thing.)

You win the board today.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.
