Re: FJs for the 7/16/18 week
Vasco de Gama as the only name I could come up with that I even remotely liked.
Seen Close Encounters, read Brave New World (can't imagine getting Friday's clue otherwise).
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Bolivar on Monday, 1984 on Wednesday. I have seen Close Encounters... but have not read Brave New World. I didn't know the Ford connection, just kind of got lucky.

Can't remember my last superfecto. I don't know whether to die happily or apply to stand at stud.

I had seen your post of 5/5 and specifically had you in mind when I included the Composers clue as one of the extras as I know that's your area. If you had lost the superfecto for Pavlovian or the Alhambra then that would have been on you for letting gettable clues get by you. Glad to see the 8 smileys for you.

Toughest FJ for me was Balboa; all of the rest were instagets.
I know Pictures at an Exhibition because of my hi-fi aficionado background (but I am NOT an audiophool); for years, a Telarc recording of that piece was a standard piece to show off a good stereo system. I have read BNW, more than once, but in the dystopian novel category, I still prefer Zamyatin’s We over BNW and 1984. I don’t really consider Animal Farm to be a dystopian novel; it’s a bitter allegorical satire.

Sorry for the bump, but I never got around to posting my results for this week (which I try to do faithfully now that poll votes are private), and want to get it done before the new season starts.
