Australia on Monday, Guillot  on Wednesday.

Did not know the proper word was restaurateur before Thursday.

I do not plan to watch the draft because I'm not on Facebook.

I knew "restaurateur" didn't have an N in it.

I would love to watch the draft, but I'll be at work when it's going on.

no guess; Chicago
Said "Guillotine"
AFAIK have only ever seen "restauranteur." Maybe I've seen it spelled right but mentally entered the S.
Didn't have a guess about the movie role, so I went with a random big city.
I probably won't watch the draft. I'll catch the outcome online.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Blank on Thursday, skiing on Friday. I had a "rer" syllable in mind for the tenor, but "Ferrer" was all I could think of. (José Ferrer was a guitarist.)

I feel like, with a name like Helen Skelton, she should have taken the trip at least twice, in the spirit of "when I get to the bottom I go back to the top" etc.

I wasn't sure if it was Guillotin or Guillotine, and I figured wrongly leaving an E off would be more acceptable than wrongly adding an E, so I left it off. Similar to how you can probably get away with "vitz" if a name ends in "witz," but definitely not vice versa.

Should be a checkbox for this option

Indonesia. Added the e to Guillotin. No idea on the Reagan movie, but do know where Notre Dame is located.

Had puppet for Coppelia.

Have seen the proper spelling for restaurateur, but probably would have added the n out of habit.

:?: Went with Australia, tossing Amazon/Brazil cuz I thought it was mostly North of the Equator
 Instaget
:?: No idea Guillotin(e) was a doctor, never would have made the (dis) connection (See what I did there?)
:?: Facepalm. He was often called "The Gipper" when in office, but it just didn't connect
 My process went... "Wtf is Axel Paulsen? Wait... Axel. Duh."

 Loved the 3 Tenors concerts!
:?: Absolutely no clue.
 Just plain guessed it.

Never seen "Guillotine" without an e on it.
Not sure if I knew that "restaurateur" was n-less before the clue, but I picked up the hint.
If I had actually thought of Gipper, I woulda been on South Bend in a flash.
Facebook draft? Definite maybe. I didn't check the "I'm planning to" box, but if there had been "I'm NOT planning to" box, I wouldn't have checked that either. If I'm home and I think of it, maybe, if I'm not doing something else...

Pretty good way to start the season! I thought the movie being referenced Thurs was King's Row, but since I couldn't remember that name or even that it referenced the small-town setting (which probably would have warned me away from that movie), I wrote Chicago...
It was startling to see the picture of an aged José Carreras, since I thought he had died some time ago...
I fretted over the Guilloti- ending, decided to go with the more familiar word...
I learned how to spell restaurateur long ago...
I'm sure I'll learn what I need to know about the draft - and much more! - from this site... ;)

I think I would have known glass, but someone else answered it very quickly. Guessed marionette for the ballet. Guessed Washington DC Thursday (I had no idea where Bedtime for Bonzo was set, so I thought maybe it was poetic or something) and boxing Friday (I guess Axel wasn't short for Robert).

Guillotine, Restaurateur

Australia on Monday; Denver, CO on Thursday. Thought Reagan's hit might have been a Western. Once Trebek started in on the Gipper, I made the leap to Notre Dame, which I knew is in Indiana, but couldn't have told you in which city. I'm over 50% to start the season, so I'm happy.

ETA: I will be watching the draft live.

Mon - Long river in one country - Amazon
Tue - Never EVER heard of this word - then found it on a font menu the next day
Wed - Guillotine, but on interrogation would have remembered the real name
Thurs - Negbait - the monkey movie is way more famous
Fri - Great clue - the TOM suggests someone active in 1930's to 1950's but obscure enough that you have to figure his name is the rest of the TOM!
Disclaimer - repeated exposure to author's musings may cause befuddlement.

Instagets M, Tu, W, Thu.
First guess was "figure skating" on Friday but rejected it because I thought the term was spelled "axle" but I'm positive I've actually heard this fact about Paulsen before, possibly while watching the Winter Olympics this past February. The Lutz and the Salchow are also named for the skaters that invented them.

Thought of "doll" for Coppelia but clammed thinking more was needed.

Spelled it "Guillotine."

Thought there was an "n" in "restaurateur" but answered the question correctly.

Tentatively planning to watch the draft.
