Again, aside from the FJs I'm not watching the TT, so it's hard to say on any of the additional clues, but I probably would have been 0/3 on those.

I don't think I could have gotten yesterday's with only "weasel" or Mellivora capensis.

Oh, I did get one right (Darwin). Well that's good. Yesterday I thought I had a shutout.

I'm not ever going to get a Lord of the Flies clue. The others were instagets as WECIB's, except for a tiny residue of doubt about the honey badger. The "melli" never registered even with our hives of apis mellifera, or my Spanish vocabulary of miel = honey.
I question the anthropization (or whatever word) of the "fearless" description. I think "fear" is a strictly human emotion (or at least primates), but I'm not up on my pop evolutionary psychology these days. And I question they are the most aggressive or persistent - how do you quantify that? Whatever, the honey badger has a good PR agent so sure, they are brave.

I would object to the show calling the Dallas Cowboys a "football team", but I think they just asked for the team name for messrs. Prescott and Elliot. (ex St. Louis football Cardinals never let go of a grudge  )

I figured "mellivora" meant honey eater, but either I didn't think of badger, or it passed through my mind too quickly to register, or I've never heard of the honey badger. I think the last is unlikely though, as looking at its Wikipedia entry, I see it is the same thing as a "ratel", which I used to see a lot in crosswords but seems now to have gone the way of the ani and the anoa.

"Most fearless mammal" immediately made me think of badgers and wolverines, and with "two-word" in the clue I was able to make the step to honey badger thanks to knowing that honey badger don't care. I don't think I'd have gone from weasels to badgers without fearless.

7/8 on the tournament with the only miss being Dear Evan Hansen.

Right before watching Friday's episode, I was having a conversation about Hugh Jackman not knowing wolverines were real animals, and at one point I said every member of the weasel family is adorable. As I said it, I was thinking, "Even badgers?" but I wasn't picturing a regular badger (those are definitely adorable) -- I was picturing a honey badger. Anyway, "weasel" helped there.

No idea Friday. Unfamiliar with any internet videos of honey badgers. I have also been trying to learn Italian lately, where mele means apples, so that was leading me down the wrong track.

7 for 8 on teen tournament FJs, and Friday's miss breaks my longest FJ streak ever, dating back to the week of 9/24.

Had to check the "misled by shell" response for LOTF; 10th grade was an embarrassingly long time ago and I haven't picked it up since.

When the "fearless mammal" clue popped up, my wife said "how can anyone know that?" I said, "Well, they specified weasel, so be thinking two-named wolverines and minks and badgers and .... oh -- badger .... there it is."
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

There is no way that I would have gotten honey badger without the mention of it being the most fearless mammal.
