The clue with the reversal was NOT-SO-ANCIENT HISTORY $800: The Y2K bug scared the world in the 1990s because many feared computers would read the year 2000 as this year

Maya was negged for “zero zero” when Alex wanted 1900, but she got her money back at DD3.

In the FJ! round Emma cut her deficit from 3000 to 2800 while Maya may get Alex’s “distant third” remark tomorrow.

In the miss column for today’s guy I have more than one tally over the years. Today I get to mark one in the hit column.

Depending on how tomorrow goes I may or may not change my vote in the poll thread about Teen champs being included in the TOC. ;)

I think this would be a fine regular-play FJ if, say, one TOM (the pond?) were removed. Agree?

As much as I make fun of Emma, I have to admit I was rooting for her.

Didn't recognize anything except American Idol in the TV Women category.

I saw no way to figure out Apple in Business for $200.

Still don't recognize John the Baptist's beheading from anything other than J! clues.

Not even a WAG on this FJ! The key words were leading me absolutely nowhere.

I got stuck on "fire," thinking of destruction by fire. Led me to Robert Frost because and his poem "Fire and Ice." Should've paid more attention to "Pond" and, more importantly, the date  ...Overall, a well-played game. I'm impressed with all 3 players.

What a match! These women are definitely putting on a show. I still can't root against any of them, but I now have a slight leaning towards Emma. I love The Aeneid and that's a heavyweight choice when asked to pick a favorite in mythology. I bet she was sad when Maya scooped her on the Medusa clue.

42 right.

Shakespeare Guys (4), Meddling in Your Business (2), Elemental (3), Women on TV (3), Solve the Mystery (4), "F"ive-letter Words (5)

Art Subjects (4), Veggie Idioms (4), Not-So-Ancient History (4), Flags (5), Tyler, the Creator (2), Odd Future (2)

Lach Trash: Sarajevo

When I first saw "set fire", I thought Ray Bradbury, but the year, "woods", and the location made me think of Henry David Thoreau.

Emma has floored me with her Shakespeare knowledge. She is too young to waste brain cells on that dreck! I thought they were hard, except for maybe Macbeth and the Merchant of Venice was TOM'd pretty easily, but Falstaff and Othello?

Great playing by all, too bad for Maya that she wasn't brainwashed with English Lit by Baby Boomers. Great answer to a silly question by Alex. Oh- my favorite mythological figure is Satan

I couldn't make the FJ connection that the clue was trying to give, so I guessed Poe.

I’m rooting for Emma since I know a special little girl with that name. Easy clues today for older people today with great categories like Shakespeare & Business & Flags. I ran all 3 categories. I forgot about that Y2K = 1900 thing but I think it’s been a J question before.

Am I the only dope who will admit to thinking of the wrong computer error and saying 1969 for the Y2K clue?

When the flag for DD3 popped up, I was worried it was a country's flag I'd somehow never seen before.

I had to think about FJ for at least half the time, shoving Walt Whitman out of my way because I knew it was that other guy. Fortunately, I remembered the right name no more than 20 seconds in.

There's Macbeth, who is the male title character, and his wife Lady Macbeth, also a character in the play.

I'd be happy to see any of these three win. Too bad Maya got FJ wrong, but hopefully she can climb back into contention.

Not one, but two mentions of "remember, this is a two game total point affair" from Alex last night!

For those of you who "can't get past Emma's voice", or that her voice is like "fingernails on a chalkboard," you do realize that she has a speech defect, don't you? Most probably due to something physical like maybe she was a preemie or she has had jaw surgery to correct something. It's definitely something of a disability. It's like saying you can't get past a blind contestant or one in a wheelchair.
