I'm usually keen on irony, but this one passed me right by...
One short on the amendments...
But I did get Emerson.

Usual caveat about not watching the Teen Tournament applies, but I feel pretty comfortable that I'd have come up with Two Gentlemen and 27th Amendment.

I got spoiled on Wed clue but "probably" would have gotten it by paying attention to the "irony" TOM in the category. From the "died in office" list, I only have Harrison in that era, TIL that Tyler died in office.
So, almost Box of Glory - we can look forward to some Oscar and pop culture categories now.

I read the last two here, since I'm behind on viewing and probably won't watch the eps. It easy to name the 4 cities for me, and Mexico City is a given, as well as Montreal is not Ottawa and Munich is not Berlin. ET was the only guess I had, but pretty much WECIB.

I'm not sure I'd have gotten Emerson right without having Thoreau as the correct FJ response in the previous game, but I got him and that's what counts.
I'm not wringing my hands over missing Destry.

Tyler completed Harrison's term and fathered seven (more) children after leaving office; Taylor's the one who died in office after Harrison.

TIF (today I forgot) Tyler died in office.
TIL Taylor died in office. Sigh.

Blade Runner with about 0 confidence. I wish I'd thought of The Terminator, at least. ET never crossed my mind either.
Harrison; wanted to come up with Taylor's name because it was likely going to be Taylor AND (Harrison OR Lincoln) but couldn't.
Had Munich immediately, and had to work to come up with Montreal. "Munich ('72), Moscow ('80), Mexico City (one of the others), and..."
Did not come up with Emerson.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

1/5 on FJs, and what do you know, I got Gentlemen of Verona right, too. It's not often at all that I check one of those bonus three.

Ended up 2 for 5 in a week where I could have gotten them all.

Should've thought of the Washington/cherry (tree) connection but somehow didn't.

Paid no attention to the category-- PRESIDENTIAL IRONY--or to the heavy-handed TOM of "thinking the job went nowhere." If I'd paused to think that through, I'd have been able to name both presidents with confidence. As it was, all I knew was that Daniel Webster was a contemporary of Henry Clay. And I knew that Clay had been a contender in the presidential election where J. Q. Adams won despite not getting the most electoral votes. As I recall, Jackson got a plurality but not a majority of electoral votes which threw the contest to the House courtesy of the 12th amendment. The House, influenced by Clay, chose Adams over Jackson. Adams then made Clay Secretary of State. Jackson accused Adams and Clay of a "corrupt bargain." Anyway, since I knew Webster was Clay's contemporary (and of the same political persuasion) I guessed JQA as the president.

Had Munich and didn't think of Montreal even though I was alive and aware for the '76 Olympics.

Friday almost ruined FJ perfection, but finally worked backwards from Moscow and immediately got Montreal and Munich.

Still scratching my head at why the District considers those pea-sized pebbles their trees produce fruit. They were chosen for the production of flowers and are purely ornamental.

As much as I enjoyed most of the many iterations of At The Movies (Siskel & Ebert, Ebert & Roeper, Scott & Phillips, Lemire & Vishnevetsky, but definitely not Lyons & Mankiewicz), Ebert consistently baffles me whenever I pick up one of his old film guides. One star for Blue Velvet, four for Last Tango In Paris, two for Die Hard, three and a half for Die Hard 2! Where's my Dramamine...

Two for two on transcendentalists.
I would prefer not to.

RIP Roger, but I'm surprised you didn't go of a heart attack years before if you were frightened by ET. Unless you meant the long distance charges.
I'm smart and I want respect.
