J! All-Star Fantasy League

So, as promised, you can now sign up on jeopardy.com to draft a "fantasy team" for the upcoming All-Star game in Feb. I know that there was limited enthusiasm here for that format and I suspect that there may be even less for the fantasy team concept, but that caveat aside..

I was thinking that we could post our teams in this thread and see which team can amass the highest combined Coryat score over the course of the tournament. Unlike the actual J! sweepstakes, there'd be no prizes whatsoever at stake apart from bragging rights. I'd be happy to keep track of scores.

FTR, here are my highly unimaginative picks:
Spoiler
Brad, Roger and Alex

I picked exactly the same team that Woof chose, and I would not be surprised if this were the most popular lineup. Apparently we are an unimaginative bunch of folks.

It would help immensely to know the matchups. Or the format, for that matter. Otherwise, not much reason to pick anything other than heavy chalk.

Not sure how the format will work out, but I'm going with Julia, Ben, and Marissa. My analysis consisted of 10% hunch and 90% closing my eyes and pointing.

There's no way we're going to see the matchups beforehand.

The format, though, in my opinion, is absolutely essential, and the show, in my opinion, is acting poorly in not having provided this information to us.

I found the Official Rules; this might be useful to those making predictions:

The number of entries an Entrant can receive is dependent upon the number of correct answers each member of such Entrant’s Fantasy Team accumulates during game-play on the Show during those special ten (10) episodes. For each correct response provided by a Show contestant in either the Jeopardy! or Double Jeopardy! rounds, Entrants will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes provided they have selected that contestant to be part of their respective Fantasy Team (“Sweepstakes Entry”). Any correct responses provided by a contestant during the Final Jeopardy! round will result in ten (10) additional Sweepstakes Entries provided the Entrant has selected that contestant to be part of their respective Fantasy Team.

So you can make all the worst picks and still go to Antarctica.

You don't have to make the worst pick on vacations unless you want to. Tahiti likely has better weather!

First prize is a one-week vacation in Antarctica. Second prize is a two-week vacation in Antarctica.

I already know who my captain is, but I am still stumped on choosing two different teammates.

I am not betting against Brad until at least he loses a game of Jeopardy! to only a human. (Is he still undefeated in humanoid only games?)

This is just for fun (since I don't have a recent passport if I win):

I picked:

Brad, David, Larissa
Captain because he's who he is.

The two teammates are legends in quizbowl, so I had to. :D

I keep wondering why TPTB at Jeopardy! (arguably the most venerable and beloved game show in history) feel the need to tinker with the basic idea of how the game is played. All this is to me is a chance for a bunch of people who have already made tons of money on the game to come back and make even more, meanwhile depriving 20 or so potential newcomers of their chances.

At least when MLB plays the Old-Timers game it doesn't diminish the regular season. All I'm sayin....

You realize that the show was going to do a February tournament anyway, right?
