No clue, CA/AZ, backed out of Daedalus because I thought they were looking for a real person, completely blanked, no clue.
No clue, Rising Sun, no clue.

No J! test for me because I'm still in the Wheel pool, if the fact that someone who tried out in July 2009 is airing on the 30th is any indication. (I tried out in November 2009.)

Seriously, I took two years of German and I remember almost nothing of it. It's impossible to remember what gender a noun is!

New Mexico instead of Nevada... Technically I got 4.5 right!
Clammed on berg, thought it was mountain, but wasn't risking it on a $1000.

I said Arizona and New Mexico, blanked on Icarus, and finished out the week with Gulliver.

This may be my worst week ever. Not so much because of my end result, but because I should have known most of these.

Monday: George was my first instinct but I didn't think that the four of them could have reigned for that long, even with the long reign of George III, so I switched to Edward.
Tuesday: I was in the wrong part of the country and said Georgia and South Carolina. I vaguely remember hearing about Nevada being the fastest growing state, but even if I had pulled Nevada I am not sure I would have gotten Arizona.
Wednesday: I really had no idea how to approach this clue. The category had me thinking of real people during the commercial break, but when i saw the clue I figured it was more likely a religious or mythological clue. If Ikaria had led me to Icarus then it would have been an instant get, but I never in a million years would have made the connection. I guessed Enoch, just to have something.
Thursday: I somehow guessed that The Blues Brothers took place in Chicago, so I went with the "when in doubt go for the more obvious" principle and correctly guessed Wrigley Field over Comiskey Park.
Friday: Kind of like with the Icarus clue, the TOM of this clue went over my head. I guessed Tom Jones, and actually thought that I had an outside shot of it being correct.

Mehta was a heartbreaking miss, as he was at the tip of my tongue.
The Japan nickname was easy enough.
Didn't know that berg=mountian, may have been able to guess it with a few more seconds to think.
Never heard of "Maryland, Maryland."

So yeah, bring on next week...

Arizona and California on Tuesday (didn't think of the ramifications of ranking states' population growth by percentage), Gulliver on Friday (couldn't think of any other 18th century character).

Just Crusoe kept me from a perfect week. It might have helped if I'd actually been in the right century. For some reason I read 18th century and went looking in the 1880s.

Wondered where that last one came from, since I didn't take that quiz, but the clue was easy enough - I don't know that I've ever heard "Maryland, My Maryland" (until tonight - I have Tennessee Ernie Ford singing it on Spotify right now), but I have heard of it...

Mehta was coming to me, but not in time. t h i s close to a perfecto.

I was actually proud my incorrect thought process for DoT's question... I knew "the Star Spangled Banner" was about the seige of Baltimore during the war of 1812, but I also thought of "Maryland my Maryland". 50/50/90, went with SSB.

Never even heard of that movie. I saw BB only once, about 15 years ago. Guess I wasn't paying enough attention...

Connecticut & New York on Tuesday.
NHO Zubin Mehta.

Guessed something along the lines of "Maryland Song" but did not know the actual title.
