Martin Scorsese direct: The Irishman - Hoffa + organized crime - De Niro, Pesci, Pacino
Based on the book "I Heard You Paint Houses", about Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran. (Author was Charles Brandt.)
That's a weird title. How loud a painter is the guy anyway?

DC had her ups and downs in terms of quality, but she did write the original series episode "Journey to Babel," which introduced Spock's parents to the Trek universe. She was definitely a TV sci-fi pioneer.

I wouldn't be surprised if a J! clue gives "D.C." and asks for her full first name (Dorothy -- D.C. stands for "Dorothy Catherine").

Oh heck no. That said, they DO like giving what initials stand for as a clue for the surname

Meh, I'm phrasing it more like an FJ thread clue but it belongs here more.

In 2019, Chief Fire Controlman Lauren Bruner became the last person interred here after having escaped it 78 years prior.
Spoiler
USS Arizona ; I wanted to do it without the years but not sure how TOMmy 'CFC' alone would be for Navy
Further details
https://www.snopes.com/ap/2019/12/06/pe ... n-arizona/

On Dec. 7, 1941, then-21-year-old Lauren Bruner was the second-to-last man to escape the burning wreckage of the USS Arizona after a Japanese plane dropped a bomb that ignited an enormous explosion in the battleship’s ammunition storage compartment.
...
This weekend, divers will place Bruner’s ashes inside the battleship’s wreckage, which sits in Pearl Harbor where it sank during the attack 78 years ago that thrust the United States into World War II. The Southern California man will be the 44th and last crew member to be interred in accordance with this rare Navy ritual. The last three living Arizona survivors plan to be laid to rest with their families.

For the third year in a row, the average life expectancy in the United States has declined. The last time American life expectancy declined three years in a row was during the final stages of World War I and the ensuing Spanish Flu pandemic. A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association cites as a major contributor "an increase in mortality from specific causes," including "drug overdoses, suicides, and organ system diseases" among "young and middle-aged adults of all racial groups."

New apple type: Cosmic Crisp (Hi, bottom row of an alliteration category)

https://thetakeout.com/cosmic-crisp-app ... 1839227721
It is supposed to be as flavorful as a Honeycrisp, as disease-resistant as an Enterprise, and as easy to store as a Red Delicious. It has been in development since 1997

As if there wasn't enough evidence the Hollywood Walk of Fame is all about the money...
https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ ... 623751001/
Now the name of a car: the Chevrolet Suburban SUV, will be in the same company.

The Suburban is the first vehicle to get it an award of excellence in film and television. It was presented Thursday by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and unveiled at a ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard.

The award star is located on Hollywood Boulevard and Highland under the Dolby Arches, an area adjacent to the Walk of Fame. An award of excellence star differs from a Walk of Fame star because Chevrolet can use its logo on it, which is not permitted on Walk of Fame stars.
These are not a new thing apparently. Disneyland (the location), the Dodgers, Musso and Frank's Grill, and the Victoria Secret Angels, amongst others, also have these "awards of excellence."
