Harry Truman
I've heard of Black Flag was as close as I got.
I needed more time on ASCAP as I play to have my response ready when Alex is finished reading. I was trying to recall the AS part to help trigger the rest and it did not work.

I guessed Alicia Vikander for Monday.

I watched Ex Machina and guessed she might have been nominated for that, while knowing that she won for something else. She's 30 now, so I might have also assumed she was a bit younger than she is.

I added Vikander to the mix, so you can vote again and check that box with the collection of actresses without messing up anything. I am curious to see if Ronan alone can beat the rest of group.

Ow.

Mon - Hathaway (but I was right about knowing it was the one who tripped coming up the stairs)
Tue - Nimitz (so I checked Navy guy, not president. Wouldn't making that box "I picked a Navy officer" better? Reagan wasn't in the Navy.)
Wed - Tolkein, but I was thinking JRR (so I didn't check the Christopher Tolkein box; I know he's still alive.) I read "famous son" figuratively.

For Home on the Range, I was flipping between NE and KS but stayed clam; if it was a DD, I'd've said NE.
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
Latest movies (1-10): Everything Everywhere All at Once (10), Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken (6), Black Sunday /1960/ (6), Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (7)

Keira Knightley (also considered Portman and Swank), Teddy Roosevelt.
For some reason "Home on the Range" got stuck in my head about two months ago and that's when I learned it was Kansas' state song.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Mon: Pure, unadulterated dumb luck. Which I'll gladly accept.
Tues: Quickly narrowed it down to the USS Reagan or USS Bush - thought a moment and went with the right one.
Wed: Had everything right except getting a name. Probably karma for the get on Monday.
Thurs: Educated guess. I had the wrong years in my head for the airlift, but went with it anyway.
Fri: Not happening. Made sense after the reveal, but the right answer wasn't on my radar.

Zine: My TPH moment. The whole thing made no sense to me. Not just the selected question, but the whole category.
Home on the Range: Didn't know the answer and there were just too many possibilities to make a guess. Stayed clam.
Acronyms: I have had too many members of ASCAP as clients over the years to miss this one.

18 FJs in a row followed by 6 misses is unsettling, especially cause I blanked on a familiar name on Mon, and came a second too late to the response Wed...
I was sure I knew, then blundered into completely wrong names for ASCAP ...But I've long known what state Home on the Range is about...

M) I know one Millenial female actor's name (that's taken seriously). WAG that won.
T) A name I'd rather forget.
W) Wouldn't get this if spotted "Winnie the Pooh" guy.
Th) I've heard this feelgood story a few times.
F) After WAG of Rio Grande was able to get to the right place.

NOGO on the extra clues. Kansas was a surprise. If they get around to Missouri, it's the Missouri Waltz.

This is the first time since the week of November 5th that I didn't go 4/5.

Spoiled on a clue yet again, this time on Monday's clue. Thought "peace through strength" referred to Woodrow Wilson's policy of collective security, so I went straight to him. Went with Roald Dahl on Wednesday; Milne did enter my mind, but with only 2 or 3 seconds left.

I got a little lucky on Monday--I remember seeing JLaw in Winter's Bone, a movie that I happened to catch in a free campus flim festival. I'm not sure if I came up with any sort of guess on Tuesday.
