Just about everything ever written about Andy Warhol mentions he was from Pittsburgh - a little more known than his branch of Catholicism...
Still better than
this game where they expected you to know that James Warhola is from Pittsburgh entirely because his name is similar to Andy Warhol's.
No, it
is Andy Warhol's name. He changed it from Warhola.
No, it
was Andy Warhol's name before he changed it to something similar.
And of course Alex acted like "James Warhola is Andy Warhol's nephew" is common knowledge. Just like he thought everyone should know what liederkranz is.

To be fair, that was in the UTOC. That clue would definitely be way too much in a regular game. And even for UTOC, what were they thinking putting it in the $800 slot in a DJ round? That clue belongs in the $2000 box if it belongs anywhere, as the TS from the contestants confirms.
But the clue doesn't expect that you'll "know" it. It requires you to make an instinctive connection - 2 of the players made one by ethnicity instead of, as intended, by the famous name itself. The higher-value clues in that category were YKIOYD.

That's like saying I'm from Yuba City, California just because I share a last name with
this guy. Or maybe I'm actually from Lakeland, Florida because my name is only a couple letters off from
this guy.

Wow, how obtuse of me; I forgot that sensitivity is paramount on an internet forum!
But, by all means, continue coddling people instead of calling out silly behavior.
Grow up.
Ah, yes,
I'm the one behaving childishly by mocking abject petulance.

It's an important part of THIS forum. Please figure that out or leave.
Toughen up, buttercup; nothing I said was remotely out of line.

Except that Andy Gefen specifically said something was out of line.

"Don't be a dick to people who have done absolutely nothing to warrant it" isn't "abject petulance," it's the basic expectation of civilized society.
Also, if you're inclined to act as if
you're the victim under this standard because people had the sheer unmitigated gall to take exception to your mocking derision of someone's perfectly legitimate personal choices, take special note of the qualifier in the prior sentence.

New York was massive negbait for Andy Warhol, but PA was the obvious choice if you knew that he was Lemko and Ruthenian Catholic (an association that should be easy enough to make for anyone who has seen
The Deer Hunter).
I thought "he's from PIttsburgh" was a bit snide on Alex's part. After all, Al Capone was from Brooklyn.
And he died in Florida. So I guessed Florida for that clue.
Also Warhol = Pennsylvania if you know one of the three Pittsburgh sister bridges is named after him (
www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=5755)
Ditto Capone, though.

Also, did Steve say "What is.." before his Pikachu impression?
I only heard the "-achu" part. Steve-O was on that like flies on cider vinegar and I'm pretty sure the poor audio guy couldn't switch feeds fast enough. Steve: this is why they say wait for Alex to call on you!
Also, haven't we established by now TPTB know better than we do what's said on set?
Texas Rangers...also see Lonesome Dove, True Grit,
King of the Hill

Yes! Before I saw the episode, a friend messaged me in outrage about the alleged omission by Steve-O. Took just one viewing to see his lips mouthing "What is" as Alex called on him.
I like a fast-paced game, but boy, oh boy, was Christopher determined to sloooow it dooooown! I appreciated his super clear speech and smooth voice, but the shift in pacing kept throwing me off. And Aaron's battle with the signaling device was uncomfortable to watch, probably because I can only imagine the frustration
Fie on all three players for not going along with Alex's accent lead on the BRIT SPEAK category
I had some not-so-near misses in this game: Sea of Finland, Ecumenical Councils, Seventh Day Adventists, but otherwise scooped up most of the trash
Wasn't getting Funkadelic or Superstition. Thought World Book was the hardest clue in the game. Marionette was also a head scratcher
Got to Texas on FJ, but then pivoted to Rough Riders. Should have thought more on TX
I have 171 unwatched episodes of Jeopardy! on my DVR. And 5 new ones (and a repeat) get added every week. I should be banned from this board or at least publicly shamed
And finally: can we please just all get along?

A couple people have mentioned the World Book clue. I have always thought that World Book was intended for schools and young people. So the mention of "Child" in the clue made it a cinch. Britannica is written at a much higher level. (My parents bought me one when I was a young teen-ager - I would have been better off with World Book!)

Walker, Texas Ranger is probably my favorite TV show of all time next to J! and The Simpsons (I'm dead serious)...so of course I couldn't think of anything besides the Rough Riders.
My wife and daughter are in the same fan club, though I started leaving the room while they watched it after about the 38th time Alex got kidnapped and had to be rescued. I sure would like to be as resilient as the characters, both good guys and bad guys, though -- they could take multiple punches and kicks to the head and face that would give an NFL player multiple concussions and walk away without a bruise, drop of blood, black eye, or even a fat lip. Amazing.

i said the exact same thing...pizz on trebek...can't wait until he retires...dude is so fricking pompous
I may agree with you on a thing or two, but I just don't get the Alex hate.

It was nice to be able to root for a familiar face. I've met and played quiz bowl against Steve-O at several TCONAs, and he's a good dude. I hope he has a nice, long run.
FJ! seemed like a cinch given the writers' careful avoidance of the word "Texas."
The Bourne Sup______ for $2000? I'm really bad at movies, but that's painfully obvious.
