If the blank was “I’m ___” instead of “I’m a ___”, I probably would have said “right here, right here, right here, right here at home”.

At the risk of eliminating myself, I don't think I got scored on Q2. The funny thing is, I don't actually remember what I put down, so I could legitimately have not put anything down at all for that question.

I imagine there would be just as big a sheep if you asked what things Meredith Brooks called herself.

Oh - you put "drop" for that one. I'll change it to "sheep" since you didn't use it anywhere else.

Q4 - Hash(tags) - Below are some tweets that include some of the most used hashtags of all time (with the hashtags edited out, of course). Name one of the hashtags being used. I'll use my discretion if you're close. Some of the pictures might come out a bit small - click on them to enlarge.

Re: TD 420 - Free your mind (Q4-Q5 Revealed)

Post by SenseiCAY »

I'm gonna churn it out today, as I'm leaving town for the weekend. Here's Q5:

Q5 - MJ - Name a player, other than Michael Jordan, that started at least 3 games for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Finals in the 1990s.

Q5 Bonus (-3 points) - a well-known part of the experience of attending a Bulls game was the introduction of their starting lineup, featuring a computer-generated animation of a bull charging through the city, and what stellar piece of music by the Alan Parsons Project?

I'll reveal who got the bonus at the end (speaking of which, I didn't mean to make it required on the Google form - there was no penalty for putting a wrong answer on that one regardless), but here are the results for Q5 in regulation. In researching this one, I found out that the starting lineup was remarkably similar during each of the three-peats (1991-1993 and 1996-1998). While I asked for a player who started at least 3 finals games, it turns out that there were no players who started 1 or 2 games for the Bulls during those finals runs - in other words, everyone who started a game also started at least 3 games.

When I hosted a TD awhile ago and asked for Chicago athletes, nobody went for Rodman then and I was mildly surprised. I'm even more surprised he was a singleton here.

I nearly put Bill Wennington. I'm glad I didn't.

Gah, I thought Kukoc would be a lock for like 2 or 3. Very nearly thought I'd be at least sharing the lead after I saw #ShareaCoke do considerably better than expected. Just have to hope the endgame draws some favor.

I thought Kukoc would do better too - I figured people would chicken out of him because he was such a great sixth man off the bench and might be borderline for 3 starts.

Finally, in regulation, we asked you to name a state where marijuana is legal for medical and recreational use.

Q6 - Marijuana - As of the time of this game, name a US state where marijuana is legal for both recreational and medical use.

Apparently, everyone here knows where to go for a legal smoke.

Re: TD 420 - Free your mind (Q6 and final results revealed)

Post by SenseiCAY »

Alright, before I leave for the weekend, we have the bonus and final results. On Q5, you could've gotten 3 points shaved off if you could name the song by the Alan Parsons Project that plays during the Chicago Bulls starting lineup introduction.

Here's the video, featuring their PA announcer, Ray Clay, of said intro from 1997 (which, incidentally, contains 4 correct answers for Q5). Before the intro finished, the Bulls were already up by 15 points.

Anyhow, the "stellar" instrumental is called "Sirius," and in the original album, the instrumental segued into "Eye in the Sky," which still fits the category and was also accepted. The following players received the bonus:

Thanks for hosting. And thanks for the look back to the Jordan era. I only saw a scant handful of games at the old Chicago Stadium, but I remember that once the announcer said "From North--" the building erupted into complete and utter pandemonium, and you could not hear the rest of Jordan's intro at all. Them was the times!

And don't forget to say nope to dope and ugh to drugs!
