Yes on tiebreaker. New Jersey was my incorrect FJ response.

I've had "The Lottery" read to me, so I figured that was sufficent for a yes vote.

Read the Lottery in school, read Devil in a Blue Dress and guessed its setting correctly though I had thought it was New Orleans. I was probably confusing "Easy Rawlins" with "Big Easy/Nawlins".

I was nowhere near the right state Friday, but I am grateful that my guess was implicitly recognized by the survey question as not among the absolute dumbest answers.
I'm smart and I want respect.

I had read The Lottery, but the author didn't stick. I know one of the writers has a fetish for The Complete Angler, but his name never stich either.

My brain started scanning through the recent governors of the bigger states, found nothing appropriate, then started going through prominent governors looking for women. Not enough time to get to Arizona, which I do think I would've settled on as the answer if I had more time.

Washington on Friday, for some unknown reason. Would never have come up with AZ.

Have not read The Lottery.

M - (Blank)
W - Singer (I knew it was Compleat Angler, and I knew the first name was Isaak)
Th- Mengele (Knew it was one of the Argentinian Nazis)

Had awareness of all FJ responses (I'll just throw Arizona into that too, for simplicity's sake)
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
Latest movies (1-10): Everything Everywhere All at Once (10), Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken (6), Black Sunday /1960/ (6), Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (7)

Judging only by this poll, quite a rise in difficulty in that last FJ of the week...I also guessed WA.
I would have gotten the tie-breaker with only the second part of the clue but I hesitated because I forgot helium is a noble gas...
Just blanked on celiac...

Marlowe, Mengele, Alaska. Only Mengele with any degree of confidence.

Have not read The Lottery. I think I was supposed to at at least one of the schools I attended, but because I moved around so much and the 10th/11th grade school's curriculum was so weird it never happened.

I've gone back and forth on whether to click the "haven't heard of them" box for Walton. The name would have gotten a blank stare Tuesday (and probably again by next Tuesday). Compleat Angler is one of those things I've heard of but are not on my radar when they come up on the show, and I've never bothered to learn who wrote it. Seeing how often they come up, it looks like I should.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Remembered reading about the Macedonian name change earlier this year, but I had completely forgotten about it by the time the clue aired.

Friday was an instaget because I knew how similar the governor's names were: Jane Hull, Janet Napolitano, Jan Brewer.

Could not recall “Shirley” so just wrote “Jackson” on Monday. Knew Wednesday had to be The Compleat Angler author but couldn’t get Walton in time. Couldn’t get Eichmann, guessed Hess.

On the tiebreaker, I was thrown by the "noble gas" part of the clue, and didn't get to helium quickly enough before Nathan rang in with it.

Washington on Friday; that state had 1 female governor during the relevant time period.

I read "The Lottery" in middle school.
