Couldn't pull Sendak's name but knew the answer they wanted.

Still waiting to find out if that review was positive or negative with it's ridiculous tony language. (Still would never get the answer)

99% positive I said "Carpathia" correctly, but then Munchausen's syndrome from the board had me wondering if I put the "n" on it (Thanks, John Boy :))

Probably would pick the right sea, but wasn't paying attention.

Never ever used the adjective "astronomic" in my life, but know the right one vs. apogee, even without the P category. Now to figure out what "astronomical" means .

Don't know the bathtub story, will check it out sometime.

Probably missed 10-15 games due to travel, etc..

We already have 8 boardies in the pool? AWESOME! Let's make it 18 (or 80!).

Thanks, Mark, for your absolute consistency every day and every week! I think we need to coin a new word for relentless persistence - how does Barrettful sound? Barretty?

A Rolling Stone review of the Eagles in 1976? Going to be largely negative; RS was one of the biggest Eagles-hating music mags of the '70s.

(As I said in the day's thread: I consider HC the album to be the typical Eagles mixed bag, plenty of whiny crap mixed with some gems. The title track has definitely held up as a true rock classic though.)

A link to (what appears to be) the complete original review was posted by teapot37 in the daily thread-

I'd call it mixed but tending positive. I doubt that the writer wanted to record a thumbs up/thumbs down.

Dr. Seuss Wednesday, no guess on the rest.

Didn't miss a game of S35.

Pre-emptively voting "in the pool" even though it's not official yet, because I believe my audition went well.

Anyone who went to a live audition is considered "in the pool" in my book.

Saw all games this season... finally getting DVR (and Reddit guy, to a lesser extent) has helped me watch the show a lot more frequently over the past two years.

Not in the adult pool, but am planning on taking the next college test (I assume it will be late September/early October).

Thanks a ton for all your work on the board and in the archive, MB!

Thank you for all the kind remarks and it is my pleasure to help out with The FJ! Guy early posts, my game comments, and the weekly poll. Oh yeah, the archiving of 20th c. J! games also. Glad to do it.

I used to blame autocorrect for these but now I blame the teleprompter. I'm pretty sure the Minutemen knocked out the grid so they could seize the airports.

Thanks so, so much for doing these FJ recaps. I’ve been called for season 36 and have been using them to prepare — I’ve gone back through 2012 now, and although I’m not keeping track of my stats, I’m mostly feeling pretty good about them. Yikes!

I just got it in my head to attempt to see how I did on FJ this season. I've been thwarted in the past by the board's software deeming certain words unsearchable. (I'm not trying to find all instances of "week" on the board, phpBB; just the posts I've made with "week" in the title!) But I got the idea this time to search for "mrgreen" (the text code of the smiley I use to denote my correct responses), and that search shows all my weekly FJ results posts (with only a few other posts in the way). I haven't counted with full precision, but I seem to have missed more than 40, but less than 46, FJs this season, giving me a greater than 80% get rate.

edit: I realize this search method would not work to find weeks in which I got no FJs or extra clues right. But it is my privilege to assume that's not an issue for me.

I've found that 'common word' thing to be annoying as well. So I went and looked to see if there was a control for it, and sure enough there was. I have therefore turned that feature off. We'll see how well it works with it off.

I ran a search for my posts with "week" in the subject line and still got a "the following words were ignored because they are too common" message.

One thing alietr could try would be to go to Maintenance > Search Index and delete and recreate the phpBB Native Fulltext index. I'd try it myself, but I don't want the blame when it blows up the board.

It's not quite as helpful an option, but there's always site:jboard.tv seaborgium week as a Google search.

Well, I'm not about to blow it up, either! And if I were going to spend time on something, it would be updating the PHPBB version like it keeps badgering me to do.

Well, this is two clicks, much easier than an upgrade. (Until you blow up the board along with your weekend.) C'mon, do it!
