At the end of March/beginning of April, I had a dream that I was a contestant on Jeopardy! On my third appearance I set a one day record with $93,000; however, I only won four games, and I finished in second place on my fifth game. The funny thing is my J! dream was right before James' historic run.
Now, about your dream back in 2004 where Ken lost before reaching the $2M mark. Was that after Season 20 ended and they were re-running tournaments? I ask because in September, right when Season 21 premiered, information about him losing his 75th game got leaked on the internet.
The dream I had took place in the summer of 2004, so for me, it was around the end of Season 20 to the start of Season 21.
Also, a correction about the weird JEP! dreams I had in my teenage years: the one with the female contestant (named Talayah, as displayed on the screen on the right lectern) being dragged off stage by strange-looking security happened in 2003; the one with the male contestant (named Jonathan, as displayed on the screen on the middle lectern) being sucked upwards into a tube and thrown into the audience happened in 2005. I also remember having one JEP! dream that had a round that acted like the Think Real Fast round from Remote Control -- the Season 5 (1990) version where everyone played.

I had another Jeopardy! dream last year, and it was two days before the premiere of Season 35. I dreamed that the opening title sequence for last season was similar to Season 33 - starting through a "museum" to get to the Jeopardy! logo. And Johnny said "This...is...Jeopardy! Celebrating 35 years!".
I was wondering about the music package at the time because of what happened on Wheel back in January 2017. But I dreamed that the 2008 theme was still being used, which actually turned out to be the case; and they're still using it as of the beginning of S36 (I have a feeling it'll last until at least 2020).
Last night I dreamed I was watching the ToC again, and James made it to the semifinals. Probably it was because when I watched the announcement where Alex was going back into chemotherapy, they were just filming the ToC.
