Jules Verne (desperation guess), La Marseillaise, Jefferson

Caxton and mercurochrome completely unfamiliar.

I said "general fault" instead of "ground fault."

5/10 for the season, including 0/4 on Monday/Tuesday. Hopefully next week I'm not playing catch-up all week.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Ibsen Monday, Jefferson Friday. At this rate I'll have had my first 5/5 week of the season in two weeks.

France was not good to me this week. I had Hugo for the author and "La Marseilaise" for the anthem. NFC on GFCI. 7/10 to start the season.

If you had asked me before last week what mercurochrome was used for, I probably would have guessed something with developing photos.

Mon - Hugo
Tue - La Marseillaise

I knew the G, not the F.

Dismal two weeks...at least I'm caught up. And can see.

Not 10-for-10 to start the season, but 8-for-10 is quite acceptable.

NHO Father of English Printing, but I'm old enough that I had many of my owies treated with mercurochrome (sp?)

I was spoiled for the Rubik's Cube one on Thursday. I probably would have gotten it, but can't count it. I only ended up getting O Canada (Rudyard Kipling, Little Boy, James Madison).
Never been on J!, but once won a knockoff version that aired on local access TV.

Tolstoy
should have been gettable but I just didn't think of him in the :30...Rubik's cube was instant despite never having heard it used to solve problems...No hesitation on Jackson since "legacy" seemed dispositive that it was someone who followed...
I sat out GFCI...
From the depths the name Caton came to me, I had time to adjust and add the x before uttering it...I didn't know mercurochrome was no longer in use, but it makes sense now that I learn that...

New to the archive thanks to this game, the mercury-bromine compound marketed as an antiseptic also called Merbromin:

What is Mercurochrome?
6 months ago there were no mentions in the Archive, now there are 2. Yay.

My brain was AWOL for parts of this week. Couldn't think of Canada as a French-speaking country. Couldn't pull Burning Man in time. And put me down as another distracted boyfriend who turned his head after Jefferson, incurring the wrath of Andrew Jackson.
