Can we leave off "fully"? I'm wishy-washy on the whole thing, but I did kind of expect a reversal... because, as Kirk said, it's nit-picking.

I don't think you can blame that one on architects. That was engineers all the way, and even after it failed, the engineers had a really hard time figuring out why.alietr wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 11:07 amSeattle, huh? ... I wasn't assigning blame, but it was at least somewhat implied that engineers were responsible given Kirk's comment.mahatma wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 11:57 amI don't think you can blame that one on architects. Re: Monday, October 28, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Interesting. I read Kirk!'s comments exactly the opposite: that engineers are involved to make sure the architects' pretty designs don't fall down. As someone who is both (although currently practicing neither), I was hoping Opus's suggestion would bear more fruit.
Either way, the TNB collapse wormhole brought up an interesting nugget re blame. One of the engineers who analyzed the failure stated that (and I paraphrase) when we try to do something beyond our existing capabilities, a certain amount of failure is to be expected, and that we should focus on learning from it rather than assigning blame for it.

The pumpkin clue is turning into a spinning dancer for me. I can read it either way and both ways are compelling. I think it depends on whether you read it as having an implied resumption of the word "using". I.e. "A Celtic tradition of using hollowed-out turnips with candles inside led to [using] these distinctive & larger Halloween gourds." That's one reasonable way of resolving the syntactical difficulty. The alternative is to leave the wording clumsily saying that jack-o-lanterns are gourds, which is like saying my teak table is a tropical hardwood. I mean... I guess so?

While I did get the Lach Trash, I thought Lewis Carroll's real name was a bit YEKIOYD for the top box. Better than that FJ! where you had to try and decode long-ass anagrams of his name.

Well, I had Dada, too, but after Diana was negged, I knew what they wanted. Unlike Kris, who thought they were going for Dada + ismdavey wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 1:17 pmA bigger injustice??…OK, we can differ on when a gourd becomes a decoration, but...

I saw this ep a day late. I have no position on the jack-o-lantern clue.
But what is the full name of the "celebrity"? Never mind - Wink Martindale. Heard of the name because I am wired for that but no idea who it is (could have been the lady). Twelvefootgirl and I sat in those exact seats for the morning taping we attended.
Got the bridge easy enough. I had forgotten the backstory that he didn't live to see it finished. Tuesday (regular clue) pseudo-spoiler:
