When calculating your score, don't forget to deduct the value of any clue where you rang in and guessed wrong. But for those who guessed Amundsen, don't sweat it. James got there first and saved you.
CORRECT RESPONSES
Show
$1000 IT'S NOT AUSTRALIA: Andorra
$800 IT'S NOT AUSTRALIA: Armenia
$2000 SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY: Carl Anton Larsen

I think either the dollar values or the answers are switched in the poll:
Spoiler
Show
Andorra is the tiny country with princes, not Armenia

D'oh! Hey, whaddya know? It let me correct the mistake without zeroing out the votes. I swear I've had it zero out results when I've made changes before. Maybe it only does that if I add or remove a poll question.

:( :(

Downside of going bottom up...it took me both of those clues to figure out the category gimmick

I was slow to get the theme of not Australia, even after getting Armenia.

:D :D :(

The pull of "Norwegian explorer" was strong, but so was my inkling that for $2,000 in the ToC, it wasn't going to be Amundsen. Easy clam.

I always do the J!6 clues before watching the episode, so I already knew the gist of the category when it was first revealed.

Even if I didn't do J!6 first, I still would have assumed they were going for countries that also started and ended with A such as Austria.

I wonder what it would take to beat James from the fourth podium. Five DJ! categories about the 1934 film "Little Man, What Now?" and a boardie who has seen that movie 300 times?

James Clark Ross != Norwegian

Put me down for 2 clams and a Ross. I stayed quiet until after Amundsen got worked out, then tried to rebound.

And don't talk to me about the Norwegian thing. I was too focused on the photo and the ice shelf to have heard that bit.

It took me getting Armenia to figure out the theme.
