Fourth Podium Poll for 11/8/2019 - Friday TOC (SPOILERS)

Post by opusthepenguin » Fri Nov 08, 2019 9:38 pm

The players sure made my job easy going into the weekend. Only one true triple stumper in the whole game. We'll never know if College Board would have been another one. This wraps up one surprising week. (I'm surprised the ads didn't tease the surprises more. Lots of people would have leapt to the wrong conclusion about what the biggest surprise was going to be.)
CORRECT RESPONSES
Show
$400 ORGANIZATIONS: College Board
$800 ORGANIZATIONS: JA (Junior Achievement)
DD2 $1600 clue in REVELATIONS: Davy Crockett (Ryan guessed Jim Bridger.)
Sorry if you didn't get any. Not a lot of opportunity here.
I mean, come on.
Bet you wish you'd thought of that.
Well, you should have
Congratulations, but it's not cool to brag.

$800 to the good for JA and even though I was not born on a mountain top I got the missed DD.

My reaction to Francois betting $8000 on DD3 was audible. I don't think I swore and it was probably more confusion, "Why?"

College Board(s) not something I knew either way.

3/5 for the week.

Thanks for adding to the fun of the week with the daily polls. I'll try to keep up my end with archiving completed sooner than later, to make the wording grab easy for you, though national events may delay things.

I got College Board and Crockett. I wasn't sure I heard the "-s" on Ryan's "College Boards," but knew they'd check the tape and if it was there it would get reversed.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Ditto.

Had no issue with Francois wagering $8k.

I gasped on Francois's DD bet but I hoped that he would max out his FJ wager (while maintaining the lock).

Board, Crockett.

Didn't hear the "s" so wasn't expecting a reversal.

For the first time this week, I got all the Lach trash. It still wasn’t enough to even come close to winning from the 4th podium, though.

Davy Crockett was my only get ... though I joined Ryan in his neg with an extra S. Said Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) for the business clue.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

I'm glad I didn't think of that or I would have as well.

I really got no Lach Trash in this tournament? Weird. Usually I get at least one.

I would'a got Davy Crockett easy enough but stumbled on Daniel Boone and the clue was over before I could finish my thought process. And Alex was amazing to be quick enough to see the potential for Ryan to sing Daaaa-vy, Daaaa-vy Crockett (king of the wild frontier).
Zippo on the other two.
