It was knowledge and not a guess to correctly solve the Thursday DD that wanted Lot's wife.
Flowerpot was my incorrect guess for the Friday FJ! clue.

“Terra-cotta” and “garden gnome” together was just not gonna happen in my head Friday. Guessed flowerpot just to have something.
Rest of the week’s FJs were reasonably straightforward.

I have read OFOtCN (originally for my own edification, later for a college class) and seen the movie, but I much prefer the book, unreliable narrator and all. Sometime I would like to see a theatrical production based on the original stage adaptation that keeps Chief’s central role.

Instaget on the Lot’s wife DD and yes it was knowledge. For an atheist, I do pretty well on Bible clues

Spoiled on Wednesday's but I suspect I likely would have missed it.
Never been on J!, but once won a knockoff version that aired on local access TV.

Been to Buffalo.
Been to a Blockbuster more than a few times (they were never my favored rental place, though -- small local ones were a lot better).
Didn't think Lot's wife had a name.
Read and seen OFOTCN.

Went to Blockbuster semi-regularly, have seen the OFOTCN film, and knew she was just "Lot's wife".

Missed with McClellan for the Civil War candidate, and should have known Bahrain for the mosque but went with Brunei. It's on an island, but I'm not sure it's considered an island nation.

Found an old Blockbuster card in a drawer when we cleaned out the house last year prepping for a move. During the same clean out process, sold an Edith Piaf vinyl album (along with another four shelf-feet of vinyl LPs). Saw the movie "La Vie en Rose" referenced in the clue and thought Cotillard did a TERRIFIC job with the role.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

Next level: has anyone been to a Blockbuster in Buffalo?

I might have, I'm not 100% sure.

"City of Light" totally threw me -- Buffalo just isn't a city I associate with technology. Should've thought about it more from the "1901 event" angle.

A couple of thoughts:

• I am surprised by the 40+ percentages on Buffalo and Sherman. Given how these clues were worded, I was expecting much lower numbers. I felt like a friggin' genius for coming up with the correct responses in 30 seconds.

• As for Lot's wife, it seemed to me the writers were looking for her name, even though I was pretty sure she isn't named in the Bible.

• I used to patronize that Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon, which was a 30-minute drive from my home. Then I moved to Nashville, where Blockbuster was practically next door. Then the company went belly-up just a couple of years later.
