I think squarekara has a possible case since the clue didn't specify they had to be current teams.

Agreed - I debated whether to accept Expos as correct and have reversed my original ruling as it was my incompetence that left out the word "current".

Thanks, guys. That was a deliberate choice, although I do tend to live in the past anyway. Go, Chicago Cardinals!

relocated teams and defunct teams were allowed? if so, then you didn't include a lot of them in the "not used" list

I did not intend for defunct or relocated teams to be used, but leaving out "current" meant a poorly pinned clue and led me to accept Expos. I am too lazy to list all of the other possible answers that I did not plan to accept and that nobody used.

In that case I demand a Singleton because when I said Winnipeg Jets I meant the original Winnipeg Jets now the Phoenix Coyotes, not the current Winnipeg Jets. :))

You did say that the number of correct responses shrinks with each question, which would not be true if defunct teams were included in question 2.

Clearly, the defunct teams were unanticipated. However, I went with Expos not only because they hadn't been expressly disallowed, but also because Gary Carter went to my high school. Go, Lancers!
