Paul Hornung died today at age 84. The Notre Dame grad was not famous enough to be asked for as a response in his archive appearances:

#6965, aired 2014-12-19 POINTS! $800: In 1960 the Packers' Paul Hornung truly did it all in scoring 176 points: 15 TDs, 41 PATs & 15 of these
#4942, aired 2006-02-21 LEADER OF THE "PACK" $400: Don Hutson, Paul Hornung & Lou Brock (no, not that Lou Brock) are in this team's Hall of Fame
#4599, aired 2004-09-09 PRO FOOTBALL $400: In 1960 Paul Hornung set the NFL season record for scoring with 176 points: he had 15 TFDs, 41 PATs & 15 of these
#4323, aired 2003-05-21 U.S. UNIVERSITIES $800: (I'm Tim Brown of the NFL) This school has produced the most Heisman Trophy winners with 7, including Paul Hornung & me
#3901, aired 2001-07-16 TEAM PLAYERS, HALL OF FAME EDITION $800: Paul Hornung (1957-1966)

I also found this when looking up info about Hornung. Thought you might like to know as you are a Vikings fan.

Thanks, I did see that about Matt Blair as the S.F. Chronicle Sporting Green has a section called Digest that covers miscellaneous things like transactions and death. Matt Blair (even though not a Bay Area player) got a paragraph around the time of his death and today (can take several days or even longer) it was Lindy McDaniel (pitched for Giants) whose passing got a mention.

Jake Scott, MVP of the undefeated Dolphins Super Bowl win, dies at age 75.

This is going to make any memorabilia with his autograph skyrocket in price. My dad is a big sports memo. collector, and one of his most prized items is an old-style Miami Dolphins helmet with a signature of every member of the undefeated '72 Dolphins. The most impressive signature on it was Super Bowl MVP Jake Scott because he was well-known in collecting circles to be very unwilling to give out his signature, but my dad was luckily able to get him. I'll have to inform him about this one.

Yeah and then there were the games they played against themselves in practice scrimmages. Those count as one loss plus one win each. Only, as you well know, they DON'T count. I thought about specifying non-preseason for smart-arses like you. But I didn't want to tip people in the right direction. So I figured everyone knows that games that don't count don't count. I'm still pretty confident that's the case.

Sarah Fuller becomes the first female to play in a Power 5 (ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, SEC or Pac-12) college football game, when she kicked off to start the 2nd half.
Could've gotten more kicks in if Vanderbilt wasn't terrible...

The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
