I was contemplating going to see my beloved Rays at Wrigley Field over Fourth of July weekend, but at this point, I'm waiting to see how MLB alters the schedule to account for the missing two weeks. I suspect they'll at least make sure teams play the full 18-19 games against each of their division opponents.
Highly doubtful unless they play the full 162 game schedule. Just look at the 2nd half of the 1981 season.

And that’s if they miss only two weeks. If they start even later it’ll be a worse mess. Just can’t see them being able to make it perfectly equitable.

Assuming this passes and we're not still dealing with the outbreak deep into April, I could see them giving everyone a week or so of extended ST with a 144-ish game sched starting ~May 1st. Which 18 games they'd cancel are anyone's guess (they still need tons of interleague, with the odd number of teams in each league).

Two suggestions I've heard was play through the All Star break and move playoffs to neutral roofed locations

With the mayor of Los Angeles declaring a state of emergency over the coronavirus, I was wondering if that means that this season of J! will either be cut short or if the remaining tapings will be delayed a while.

With the cancellation of March Madness, the Florida senate has passed a resolution declaring the Florida State Seminoles the 2020 NCAA basketball champions by a vote of 37-2.

Discuss.

It certainly proves the Florida State Senate is filled with idiots. But there was ample evidence thereof prior to this.

I think your spell check messed up your post where you said "Disgusting".
1) Colleges shouldn't be professional sports development leagues for the NBA and NFL. While using slave labor. That are not students.
2) Sports aren't life. Maybe a timeout will make people a little more introspective. It's a helluva lot better than having a sick loved one or serious accident to make you realize that a ball game is just not important.
3) Florida legislators are tools.

If the 2020 NFL season actually happens.

It would be extremely Buccaneer-like for them to sign Tom Brady and then have him never actually play for the team due to outside forces.

I'm not much for following sportsball anymore, but I have to ask why would Brady leave his team to go elsewhere? Aren't the odds of winning more Super Bowls much higher with his current team?

I'm guessing the list of people to win Super Bowls/Championships with more than one team is fairly small.

Odds of winning? Maybe, but he's never had a $30 mil paycheck for one season before.
Plus Tampa weather vs Foxborough weather. Come on. He's 43; cold starts affecting you as you get older.

I get that money could easily be a motivation for many people, even those that already have money. He's worth about $180 million.

Considering his free agent status, wouldn't the Pates also want to pay him a large salary? Would NE really be offering that far below TB that the allure of more rings wouldn't be a factor?

If weather is a concer, is there a team with a dome that needs a QB? His stats in domes are better than outdoors.

Honestly, it really sounded like he just needed a change of environment and tension has been building for many years now.
But no, the Pats couldn't match a 30 mil paycheck; NFL has a hard cap and they don't have the space

A number of players have won Super Bowls with two teams but I think Peyton Manning is the only QB to start for two Super Bowl champs.

AFAIK, Don Shula is the only head coach

Shula coached both the Colts and Dolphins to the Super Bowl, but did not win with Baltimore.

Other coaches to lead two teams to SB:

Dick Vermeil (SB XV - Loss with Eagles, SB XXXIV - Win with Rams)
Bill Parcells (SB XXI & XXV - Wins with Giants, SB XXXI - Loss with Patriots)
Dan Reeves (SB XXI, XXII & XXIV - All losses with Broncos, SB XXXIII - Loss with Falcons)
Mike Holmgren (SB XXXI - Win & SB XXXII - Loss with Packers, SB XL - Loss with Seahawks)
John Fox (SB XXXVIII - Loss with Panthers, SB XLVIII - Loss with Broncos)
Andy Reid (SB XXXIX - Loss with Eagles, SB LIV - Win with Chiefs)

This is exactly it.. and clearly it's not just Brady who felt that way. Lots of other key cogs of the wildly successful 2014-19 teams are signing elsewhere - almost exclusively with Detroit and Miami, where former coordinators Matt Patricia and Brian Flores are now head coaches. I bet their line of thinking in leaving is that they can maybe earn a bit more money, play in a familiar system while having more fun in a new environment. Diehard New England fan, for the record, and I got sick of the will he, won't he garbage from all sides about TB. Yeah I'm quite angry that it came to this, but it was time. Paying $30 million to a 43 year old QB is flat out ridiculous, no matter who you are, and especially so if it affects your ability to fill other needs on the roster.

Of course, I also have gripes with Belichick the GM, and especially with his draft performance in recent years, but that's another story. There's still talent on the team and I look forward to seeing what happens over the next month or so and as we get closer to the season. Strange world we're living in, it's been a wild free agency period.
Dumb college kid. Go BR!

California has issued a stay at home order which is utterly confusing.

The PDF of the executive order is here: https://covid19.ca.gov/img/N-33-20.pdf
All residents are ordered to stay at home except as needed to maintain continuity of operations of the federal critical infrastructure sectors.

There are 16 critical infrastructure sectors that may continue their work according to the executive order and they are outlined here: https://www.cisa.gov/critical-infrastructure-sectors

One of the critical infrastructure sectors that are allowed to continue working is the "Commercial Facilities Sector" including casinos, outdoor events (e.g. theme and amusement parks, fairs), public assembly (e.g. arenas, stadiums), and sports leagues.

I'm pretty sure those are all closed and not to remain open. Traffic should be light on the way to work tomorrow.

Presumably, the people who are showing up to work would either be the office staff or those working in a maintenance capacity -- not people who would be customer-facing.

Kenny Rogers (the singer, not the baseball player) has died at the age of 81.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1He-5eRellI

My favorite song of his. It played in the rental car right before I set foot into my first Wheel of Fortune audition in 2010.

Then in 2017, the day after the audition that finally got me on the show, my sister and I went to see him in Rochester Hills. He was still in fine voice and good spirits, although he did most of the concert sitting down. Linda Davis did most of the female vocals on the many duets he's done (e.g. "Islands in the Stream"), but for a couple others he used archival video footage instead.
