Anyone else learn "chartreuse" from the Kmart store brand crayons?
I knew it from the liqueur.

...Just me? Okay, how about Sargent brand? Still just me?
We could only afford the 16 color package :P . But in redneck-ville we learned the color name as a fishing lure color. Also learned Fuschia the same way. The fish were always biting on the other color from whatever we had available.

That color is named for a flower that was named for someone named Fuchs, so the correct spelling is "fuchsia."

It took me a beat to come up with the literal translation of “cul-de-sac” and I needed another minute to come up with “Bag End”

The pangolin is one of my favorite animals!
And it may not be well known, but pangolins can be found on Cul de Sac....

I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

I learned about pangolins from a now defunct furry webcomic called "Concession".
