The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Was last in DC during a school trip to George W's second inauguration in 2005. Also the one and only time this Florida boy has seen snow :o

EDIT: Wait so ultrasound is correct as well? I matched the contestants and Alex with mammogram (and all 4 M's)

MRI.
I know I've been up the Washington Monument, but I don't really remember it.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Saw Washington Monument, it was closed at the time and I couldn't go up it, to my considerable relief.

That is a weird error even for me. My guess is I was confirming internally that this was the week of the 9th by assuring myself that yesterday was the 13th. I can fix it for the thread title to make it look better. Thanks.

Pan-Am on Tuesday with no temptation to say anything else.

I said blood typing for Wednesday with little hope of being right. I got stuck on the "regular screenings" aspect and tried to think of something they'd just do as a matter of course for people coming into the doctor. That was my best shot. I don't know if adding "half the population" would have steered me toward the right response but it sure would have steered me in a different direction.

I knew Chester Arthur's dates so shaving 100 years off was doable even under pressure. From there, only Washington made sense. I kept the wheels churning for the whole of the think music but couldn't come up with even a plausible distant second guess.

No trouble with "Critique of Pure Reason" philosopher or Oxford, MS writer. Could've gotten to Turkey via Ephesus or Gallipoli.

I saw the Washington Monument when I was 8. I remember taking a picture of it that caught my dad running into frame with his hand out, hoping to set up the gag where he's holding the thing in his palm. He missed. I was pretty mad about him ruining my shot at the time but it didn't take too long to see the humor in it. That was a little over 46 years ago and it almost seems as though that didn't happen to me but to that kid and I somehow inherited his memories. Maybe I'm a replicant. That's all to say that I checked the box but it felt weird to do so.

Had mammogram on Wednesday. Well, I personally didn’t.

Had Greece instead of Turkey and nothing on Kant.

I have seen the Washington Monument in person but have not been in it.

On Thursday dragon seemed like the obvious answer, to the point where it felt like a trap. The leader had a crush, and given a crush leader wins on a triple get or a triple stumper, three identical responses means the leader wins; therefore I thought I'd say dragon from the lead. On the other side of that coin, if you're trailing in a crush game, giving an identical response means you're doomed, right or wrong, and so you might consciously go against the grain, hoping the popular, "obvious" choice is wrong; therefore I thought I'd say unicorn from second or third place. (My understanding is that, in the 2000 ToC semifinals, Chacko George employed this strategy by responding with Vo Nguyen Giap when Ho Chi Minh was the correct FJ response.) At home, where I wasn't winning or losing, I decided on the non-obvious choice of unicorn.

On Friday I knew Arthur's years, but while a hero by 1785, Washington hadn't been president yet at that point, and so his name never crossed my mind. I drew a complete blank on monuments until my dad said Washington Monument and I realized he must be right. I wasn't going to get there.

edit: nice of the writers to put Pan Am and mammogram in consecutive FJs. I feel like "Pan Am, mammogram" could be half a line in "We Didn't Start the Fire."

Guessed ultrasound on Wednesday. Flirted with "wyvern" on Thursday but saw that'd be an odd fit for Bhutan.
