A perfect J! round + all 3 DDs swept from the contestants is great, but I’m shocked that two players (incl. champ) blew FJ! (Thunderbolt gave it away).

7/10

I went with George Washington. I read Benjamin Franklin's autobiography kind of recently and I don't remember the part where he restrained a tyrant. The word "Thunderbolt" should have made the clue easy so no complaint here. Nice win by Andy. I thought John could have won a few games.
Another consideration would be:
Spoilered for those who aren't fully caught up
We JUST HAD the Washington Monument as a correct FJ response in the previous game. Of course that was on a Friday game. So even under non-pandemic conditions, these contestants might not have seen that. Well, except for John who had to know he wasn't going to get lucky with Washington two games in a row.

What's happening with that during the pandemic? Do contestants get to watch games that happen earlier in the "week" as though they were in the studio audience that currently doesn't exist?

Coryat: $40,800
52 R/1 W
DD: 3/3
FJ:
LT: pub, credenza

I'm surprised so many people either went for or considered Washington. While he was certainly an 18th Century American of monument-al importance, I figured that if he were the correct response, the category would be titled differently.

John's timing on the signaling device was impeccable. Definitely a case of what might have been.
Sprinkles are for winners.

Shocked to see the ghost of "Bejamin" Franklin only come up on one screen.

Kudos to the writers for leaving out my pre-called Sammy Hagar in the booze category.

Was he so modest that he omitted any mention of his involvement in the American Revolution and the defeat of the forces of George III?

There was a lot about printing. Some parts about fraternal organizations.

Here's a good article from the Smithsonian Magazine.

Alex’s opening comment of how it will soon be Thanksgiving made me sad, knowing it will arrive without him here to enjoy it.

Perhaps he chose to mark Canadian Thanksgiving this year.

Here's a bonus clue for The Celebrity's Booze:

You have failed this actor if you haven't tried one of his aptly-named Nocking Point Wines.
Spoiler
Who is Stephen Amell (Arrow)?
I knew I was wrong when I saw "his," but the first thing I thought of was:
Spoiler
Geena Davis, who is an archer

Can't say I've heard the words "politicize" or "acclimatize" before. Definitely haven't heard the latter, though I have heard "acclimate".

0/5 in Dam. $200 could have been any country.

"Gratis" in the top box was also unfamiliar to me.

No guess on FJ!
