Opening selection in a top box Daily Double? That has to be counting on one hand rare?

Henry swept the DDs for +7000 and that gave him plenty of cushion for locking his title defense. It was obvious how much better Henry’s game was with Charlie gone.

The clues were not for me as I failed to get four in any of the categories.

The redemption was the FJ! round as I wrote one precall off the category and it was a no doubter when I saw the clue. That had to go 3/3 and should top 90% in the poll.

Archive playthrough:

Coryat $43,000 (49R, 1W)
DD 3/3
FJ

The DD I had the most trouble with was the one in that $200 box. Pulled it out though. Said Sinclair Lewis for Upton Sinclair, that stung. Swept the $2000 row. NHO Nutrageous, so that might put me in Hammer's corner.... :D

Historic document that mentions knights, WECIB?

What lower value could it have had than the top row?

Ran Awesome Technology and Speak Now, but was 0/5 in Farming and Bodies of Water. Also only $200 in Star Is Born and Forever Hold Your Peace.

NHO the song at $400 in Girl in the Song.

I thought I knew my candy bars, but "Nutrageous" was a NHOI.

Any reason I should know that Paws for $400 was a leopard and not a cheetah?

Immediately swatted away Magna Carta, leaving me with a blank screen.

Well in that case, I'd agree with you...

I'm surprised the pre-taping review of the week's clues didn't catch today's mention of Kruger National Park in WE'LL GIVE YOU PAWS $400, which just as easily could have been played before yesterday's COINS $2000 asking for Kruger, and would have potentially given it away to a contestant waiting to be called to play.

FJ! was a bust for me, and I had a semi-streak of 6 going. I was digging around for the name of the French document that was developed in parallel with the US Constitution, but I was going nowhere. Looking it up for knowledge, it was the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen - way too long for a FJ! response, even without the last 4 words. I had to go up higher on the family tree of human rights to get the Magna Carta, which I guess you could consider to be the father of both of them.

Top row DDs are about once or twice a season, right? And aren't they usually in DJ!? Always fun to see rare J! events.

I was wondering what was wrong with "andale", as it seemed to fit the clue...until I read the word "adverb". It's an interjection. Despite having learned Spanish and retaining enough to recognize things, this one escaped me. My choice, had I been forced to make it, would have been "rapido", which is an adjective...and the adverb would be too long. Although I'm pretty sure I can hear my Spanish teacher using it as if it were an adverb - "Rapido! Rapido!", as in "Do it quickly! Do it quickly!".

I don’t precall much but Magna Carta came to mind right before Alex revealed the answer. Then I remembered the FJ from a couple years ago that had an album with a name close to that. I was surprised when it came up. An odd category for FJ since we had Versailles and Ghent during the game. I got FJ right away.

:)

I guessed leopard since I thought that was the one with tree capabilities while the cheetah is the land speed demon.

I must issue a PSA for the non-aggies on the board:
I don't know what that flying hay bale was about, but that does not resemble any form of hay hauling in this hemisphere. Somebody is punking the writers or something  . There is machinery to pick up old school square bales (as in the picture), but the last thing you want to do is throw them with a 10 foot freefall into an enclosed wagon. Admittedly, I haven't bucked hay for 50 years (and made 2 cents per bale), but I still live in hay country (fields too poor for row crops). Anyway, I don't know what part of this rant is a PSA, but 99% of hay is baled in big round bales of 4, 5, or 6 feet diameter and wrapped with plastic or many wraps of twine.
Aside: I do know that my C70 volvo convertible would hold 5 bales of hay, in true Jeff Foxworthy style

I didn't know the Magna Carta addressed knights, but it's the only document I can name from the era. Next closest is the 95 Theses.

ETA: Found the "kick baler" video. If they sold 100 of these things I'd be amazed, it certainly isn't a mainstream rancher getup. It looks fun at least for 5 minutes or until the first load has to be dumped.
