December 21-January 1 Reruns
This thread will keep track of the reruns that are airing from December 21-January 1. While my Xfinity app still doesn't have any episodes listed, they list the December 21-24 episodes as "Around the World With Alex".

I suspect we'll be seeing a lot of the Galapagos and Antarctica, then. Probably Peru (Machu Picchu), Israel (Dead Sea), Japan. Some Canada. Maybe some NYC.
Based on these locations, Archive searchers could probably come up with a list of most likely episodes.

Re: December 21-January 1 Reruns
Off the top of my head, I know Hulu/Netflix have shown episodes with Alex in the Galapagos and in Canada (with Tie Domi of the Maple Leafs.) Or perhaps they were reruns during season 36. Going by the fact that they judged those episodes to be popular enough to run on Netflix, they're probably good enough for Around the World with Alex week.Robert K S wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 4:00 pm I suspect we'll be seeing a lot of the Galapagos and Antarctica, then. Re: December 21-January 1 Reruns
All of the reruns were announced on Jeopardy!'s website. Eight of the episodes were previously on Netflix and Hulu under "Celebrating Alex" and "The Best of Alex". The December 30 and 31 episodes were previously on Netflix and Hulu, along with the other 8 episodes of the 2011 Tournament of Champions, so all ten episodes were on Netflix and Hulu at some point:
December 21: October 14, 2004 (Ken Jennings wins his 57th game)
December 22: April 4, 2006 (Michael Falk wins his 1st game)
December 23: September 27, 2007
December 24: November 6, 2007 (2007 Tournament of Champions Quarterfinal Game 2, Celeste/Nick/Craig)
December 25: January 15, 2009
December 28: November 23, 2009
December 29: December 9, 2009 (Dave Belote is defeated)
December 30: November 9, 2011 (2011 Tournament of Champions Semifinal Game 1, Justin/Tom/Erin
December 31: November 14, 2011 (2011 Tournament of Champions Final Game 1, Roger/Tom/Buddy, Roger Craig makes back-to-back True Daily Doubles and gets them both right)
January 1: February 6, 2017 (Lisa Schlitt is defeated)
December 21: October 14, 2004 (Ken Jennings wins his 57th game)
December 22: April 4, 2006 (Michael Falk wins his 1st game)
December 23: September 27, 2007

Here's another one for you guys, the episode where Alex tours through CBC, the episode aired on February 26, 2009/Show #5639 and yes GSN aired this episode at some point and was featured on Netflix/Hulu.

Re: December 21-January 1 Reruns
I just checked my post in the "J! in the Media" thread where I posted a list of all of the episodes in the "Celebrating Alex" collection when it was on Netflix and February 26, 2009 was on Hulu under "The Best of Alex", however, it was not on Netflix.Ivoryface86 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 4:27 pm Here's another one for you guys, the episode where Alex tours through CBC, the episode aired on February 26, 2009/Show #5639 and yes GSN aired this episode at some point and was featured on Netflix/Hulu.

Re: December 21-January 1 Reruns
I agree - I'm a little disappointed that they just copy/pasted the "Celebrating Alex / Best of Alex" episodes from Netflix/Hulu that were shown within the past year or so. I guess it's good for those who don't have the streaming services, but with well over 8,000 episodes, surely there are others?
I suppose if I convince myself that they were hand-picked by Alex at the time of their release on Netflix, it would make sense. And I guess 8,000+ episodes is a bit of an exaggeration, given that they don't generally like to rerun episodes that are in SD. It still leaves them with 3,000-ish episodes, if you eliminate season 36 (in syndie Daytime J! already) and 35 (recently rerun as Daytime J! last year).

well a lot of their possible episodes were reaired during the covid Break. Why not Reair some of the UTOC? or the Tournament of Decades? The Team thing they did a couple Years ago?

Re: December 21-January 1 Reruns
I thought the main idea was to feature episodes where Alex traveled for clues. That's already going to decimate your available pool.
(...dangit, decimate's 90% left, not 10%...is there a 10% word?...)

The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

I thought the last of Alex's original episodes would air on Christmas Day. I must've misunderstood.

That was the original schedule. But they (rightfully so) decided to push it back two weeks to avoid conflict with potential pre-emptions on Christmas and New Years Day.thenextofken wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 7:13 pm I thought the last of Alex's original episodes would air on Christmas Day. Re: December 21-January 1 Reruns
Probably I ought to know this, but how many unaired new Alex episodes remain to air in early 2021: is it 10 or just 5?
In and out of the pool four times

Just watched the one they showed tonight...
I had forgotten just how junky and low-budget the set looked in that era. Oh, and Ken kicked butt...

It was strange to see everyone bunched so close together.
