Make it five who'd never heard that meaning of "peach", except perhaps for the first time I saw this episode.

+1

I got it due to "fuzzy fruit", but didn't remember this definition.

No guess on FJ! I've only heard that term a couple times, and thus never knew it was hyphenated.

"Twinkle, Twinkle" is also an excellent song by Margo Price.

Cathy hasn't gotten in once...

And right as I type that she finally does

I probably would have said "What is the DRC?" just out of habit, and then felt like an idiot

I'm giving myself credit for tableau, I don't care that they didn't

The camera angle makes it easy enough to read the gravemarker, even if you didn't know it, even if you didn't recall the end of the film, etc.

Density is way overvalued at $2000

Coryat: $33,600

J: 27R3P. Got DD. 5/5 on States, Presidents, Sounds, and Star. 4/5 on SNL.

DJ: 17R (including "tableau") 13P. Absolutely atrocious. 1/2 on DDs. 5/5 on Vowels (again, with "tableau"). 1/5 on Hitmakers and Fruit.

FJ: Got it about halfway through, finally got it from Pooh

LT: purred, peach
There are zero decent, moral people who support the death penalty.

I have literally never seen "Grand Poobah" hyphenated before, and some quick Googling suggests that it's not supposed to be.

It's hyphenated in the libretto to the Gilbert & Sullivan operetta, but I agree the clue can seem slightly misleading--kind of like asking for a hyphenated book title when you're looking for Moby-Dick. I think the clue would be cleaner without the word "hyphenated."

On the other hand, Milne mapped so strongly to Pooh that this was an easy solve for me.

Which is, of course, exactly how the clue works.
Both Merriam-Webster and the OED list Pooh-Bah with a hyphen. (For whatever reason, M-W doesn't capitalize it.) The OED secondarily lists it both with an open space and as one word. Its most recent citation, from 1994, has the hyphen.

Ben's interview story brought to mind some research I had done before a European trip a few years back. One commentator called the Czech diet a cardiologist's nightmare. Two favored items were fried cheese and fried cheese on a stick.
I did order the fried cheese sans stick just once for lunch.

It's healthier with the stick. Adds fiber.

I didn't process "Milne" at all, and even if I did, it wouldn't have been enough given how seldom "grand poobah" comes across my radar.

Sounds like there wasn't a path to victory for you on this one, hyphen or no hyphen. Might be worth polling this week. Something like "The word 'hyphenated' in Monday's FJ (may have) steered me away from the right response". It may turn out that those of us who took the Milne route weren't going to be deterred by "hyphenated" and those who tried to take another route were pretty much up a creek anyway.

If you've got a high enough quality TV (this was 11 years ago)

That said, I hardly think
Spoiler
OSKAR SHI...
counts as a 'hint' unless you already have passing familiarity with the film (...or book...or real life) in the first place, and at that point it's already a buzzer race.

Othello shout out from a couple weeks ago! The Welles version does have the green-eyed monster line, but he cut beast with two backs.
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
Latest movies (1-10): Free State of Jones (6), Captain Fantastic (9), Hidden Figures (8), Passengers (5)

I got Winnie the Pooh but didn’t make the leap to Pooh-bah.

Botswana seemed way undervalued at $200 compared to the other clues.

Really? You were spotted "Tswana" in the clue.
