After watching the last two games of the TOC... I want Buzzy to get the gig.

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread
I've been torn between him and Ken all along, and rewatching the ToC has reminded me how strong Buzzy's hosting skills are. He would be an outstanding choice and I don't understand why his name is rarely mentioned as a front-runner.

Buzzy was my choice from his first day. Respect for the game, respect for Alex, connection to the past but with a fresh new vibe. He hit all the right notes for me. My husband never cared for him as a player, but agreed with me that he would be the best host.

First time poster! But long time (i.e., old) Jeopardy! person (I was on the show in season 6).
Another vote for Buzzy - I was impressed with his TOC hosting, quirky in a good way, the J! connection, and young enough to be around for a while.

More games like today and Aaron Rodgers may be back in the mix.

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread
From TMZ this morning:
"Jeopardy!" won't be going back to its revolving door of guest hosts after the quick exit of Mike Richards -- TMZ's learned it'll be Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings for the rest of this season.
[W]hile former champ Jennings is still guest hosting, we're told he's not seen as a real contender for the permanent gig ... due to past controversial tweets.
Their source also says Ken will be back at minimum for a few weeks. To me, that's a lot better than no Ken at all.
One thing that confuses me when people keep bringing up Ken's "controversial tweets" is that the controversy disappeared once Ken actually started hosting. The trolls went quiet during his run. They probably liked him and realized they were wrong. Why doesn't this ever factor into Sony's decision? Did they forget because Ken's run was so long ago now?
Also, I think multiple hosts, as in two or three simultaneous permanent hosts, is the way of the future. Shows like This American Life and Radiolab have worked to de-emphasize their founding hosts in favor of greater diversity. I imagine the same will happen to Jeopardy! eventually. I hate Mayim, to be honest, but having Ken and Mayim host half and half every season is a compromise I'm willing to accept.

My lucky numbers are 6, 66, and 666.

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread
I didn't care for Mayim. Too giggly and I thought it was rude as hell when she would announce "I knew that one" on a triple stumper. I was disappointed enough to hear she was doing another 3 weeks, let alone hanging around all season. I was hoping with the boost Buzzy got with the reairing of the Tournament that he would be considered for another guest stint, at least.
I've noticed Ken has been pretty quiet on Twitter the last few weeks. He must be on his best behavior.

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread
It's been stated Mayim is the one Sony wants the most, and it's obvious the only thing stopping that is her show, which is sure to be cancelled sooner rather than later.
Ken is already in their employ and can step in and host when she is not available, and when her show is cancelled, she will be the full time host.
At least this ends all the drama and the revolving door. I'll take it.

they haven't been scheduled yet. I would expect November at the earliest, February at the latest.

I’d honestly like to have Levar Burton back to do some more weeks.

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread
From what I read, it's for the rest of the year, not the season. But then, TMZ is not the most dependable news source, are they?

I wasn't a huge fan of Bialik, but I'm happy overall with this decision.

Exactly where I am. Stability is for the best for the long-term health of the show.
